  • Patent number: 10681298
Abstract: Recommending and activating scenes in a multimedia system are provided. The techniques of the present disclosure can allow the states of the components in the multimedia system to be captured in a scene. Once the scene has been saved, the scene can be activated at a later time. A controller device for recommending scenes by comparing the current state with states of components in saved scenes is also provided. The controller device can also determine if media is playing in a current scene, and activate a selected scene without playing the media content. Once the selected scene is activated, the media playing in the current scene can be switched, and the media playing in the selected scene can be played.

  • Patent number: 10678092
Abstract: Aspects of the subject technology relate to display circuitry such as backlight control circuitry for operating parallel strings of light-emitting diodes (LEDs). A voltage supply circuit of the backlight control circuitry provides a common supply voltage to the strings of LEDs. Headroom control circuitry samples a residual voltage at the end of each string, determines a minimum of the residual voltages, and provides feedback, based on the determined minimum voltage, to the voltage supply circuit. A headroom control feedback loop may be provided including sampling lines coupled to the second end of each string of LEDs for sampling a residual voltage of each string. Headroom control circuitry may modify the supply voltage based on the minimum residual voltage. Sample-and-hold circuitry may be provided that holds the sampled residual voltages until the voltage supply circuit is ready for an update.

  • Patent number: 10681773
Abstract: Exemplary embodiments include a system having a first wireless audio output device and a second wireless audio output device. One of the first or second audio output devices is configured to one of connect as a slave to a source device in a first piconet and connect as a master to the other one of the first or second audio output devices in a second piconet. The one of the first or second wireless audio output devices determines whether an audio packet transmitted by the source device via the first piconet was received by the first wireless audio output device and the second wireless audio output device, and, when at least one of the first wireless audio output device or the second wireless audio output device did not receive the audio packet, the audio packet is exchanged between the first and second wireless audio output devices via the second piconet.

  • Patent number: 10678691
Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods for implementing coherence flows for dual-processing coherence and memory cache pipelines are disclosed. A dual-processing pipeline includes a coherence processing pipeline and a memory cache processing pipeline. When a transaction is issued to the dual-processing pipeline, the coherence processing pipeline performs a duplicate tag lookup in parallel with the memory cache processing pipeline performing a memory cache tag lookup for the transaction. If the duplicate tag lookup is a hit, then the coherence processing pipeline locks the matching entry, the memory cache processing pipeline discards the original transaction, and a copyback request is sent to a coherent agent identified by the matching entry. When the copyback response is received by a communication fabric, the copyback response is issued to the memory cache processing pipeline. When the copyback response passes the global ordering point, the coherence processing pipeline clears the lock on the matching entry.

  • Patent number: 10678395
Abstract: Some embodiments provide a navigation application with a novel declutter navigation mode. In some embodiments, the navigation application has a declutter control that when selected, directs the navigation application to simplify a navigation presentation by removing or de-emphasizing non-essential items that are displayed in the navigation presentation. In some embodiments, the declutter control is a mode-selecting control that allows the navigation presentation to toggle between normal first navigation presentation and a simplified second navigation presentation, which below is also referred to as a decluttered navigation presentation. During normal mode operation, the navigation presentation of some embodiments provides (1) a representation of the navigated route, (2) representations of the roads along the navigated route, (3) representation of major and minor roads that intersect or are near the navigated route, and (4) representations of buildings and other objects in the navigated scene.

  • Patent number: 10681328
Abstract: A direct retinal projector system that provides dynamic focusing for virtual reality (VR) and/or augmented reality (AR) is described. A direct retinal projector system scans images, pixel by pixel, directly onto the subject's retinas. This allows individual pixels to be optically affected dynamically as the images are scanned to the subject's retinas. Dynamic focusing components and techniques are described that may be used in a direct retinal projector system to dynamically and correctly focus each pixel in VR images as the images are being scanned to a subject's eyes. This allows objects, surfaces, etc. that are intended to appear at different distances in a scene to be projected to the subject's eyes at the correct depths.

  • Patent number: 10678832
Abstract: The subject technology provides a search index that maps clusters of semantically similar phrases to documents that contain any one of the phrases of the respective cluster. The subject technology may identify the phrases from a set of documents, such as a document corpus, where each of the documents is associated with a document identifier. The subject technology may generate the clusters of semantically similar phrases from the identified phrases, where each of the generated clusters is assigned a cluster identifier. The subject technology generates an index that stores each respective cluster identifier of each respective cluster in association with each document identifier of each of the documents that includes at least one of the phrases contained in the respective cluster. Further, the subject technology stores the index in a memory such that the index may be subsequently utilized to identify documents that match a search query.

  • Patent number: 10680161
Abstract: An electronic device may have input devices and/or output devices based on piezoelectric components. Piezoelectric components may include piezoelectric ink in which particles of piezoelectric material are dispersed in a binder. The piezoelectric ink may be printed or otherwise deposited onto a substrate to form piezoelectric ink traces. The piezoelectric ink traces may be deposited on flexible substrates such as elastic speaker diaphragms or flexible fabric layers. The piezoelectric traces may be part of a key in a keyboard or a stand-alone button. In arrangements where the piezoelectric trace forms part of a key in a keyboard, the piezoelectric trace may be coupled to a grid of horizontal and vertical signal lines. The signal lines may convey key press data from the piezoelectric trace to control circuitry and/or may supply control signals from the control circuitry to the piezoelectric trace to produce haptic output.

  • Patent number: 10681304
Abstract: A method and apparatus for facilitating the capturing of panoramic images with a portable device. Such panoramic images are typically formed of multiple image portions taking as the camera is scanned through a range of motion, and the image portions are digitally “stitched” together to form a panoramic image. A user interface is provided to guide a user in positioning and/or moving of the portable device in a manner that will enable capture of a plurality of images suited for forming the intended panoramic image. In many examples, parameters of the panoramic image capturing operation, such as movement and/or positioning of the camera during the operation will be monitored in real time, and the monitored parameters will be used to provide feedback to the user as to any adjustments that may improve the image capture process.

  • Patent number: 10681203
Abstract: A processor-based personal electronic device (such as a smartphone) is programmed to automatically respond to data sent by various sensors from which the user's activity may be inferred. One or more alarms on the device may be temporarily disabled when sensor data indicates that the user is asleep. One or more of the sensors may be worn by the user and remote from the device. A wireless communication link may be used by the device to obtain remote sensor data. Data from on-board sensors in the device—such as motion sensors, location sensors, ambient light sensors, and the like—may also be used to deduce the user's current activity. User data (such as calendar entries) may also be used to determine likely user activity and set alarms accordingly. Biometric data from a second, nearby person may also be used to automatically select certain alarm modes on a first person's device.
