  • Patent number: 10678553
Abstract: One disclosed embodiment includes a method of graphics processing. The method includes receiving an indication to update a current frame on a display. A plurality of graphics command are determined to be associated with a next frame that replaces the current frame. A power-up command is generated based on the received indication, configured to cause GPU hardware to begin an initialization operation. The central processing unit processes the plurality of graphics command. Prior to completely process the plurality of graphics command, a power-up command is sent to a GPU firmware. The GPU firmware initializes the GPU hardware based on the power-up command. The processed plurality of graphics command is also transmitted to the GPU hardware. The GPU hardware executes the processed plurality of graphics command to render the next frame on the display.

  • Patent number: 10677827
Abstract: An alternating current (AC) to direct current (DC) power converter may have a connector with a pair of power supply contacts and a pair of data contacts. An electronic device may be connected to the connector of the power converter. The power converter may supply DC power to the electronic device using the power supply contacts. The power converter may include control circuitry that has a resistor coupled across the data contacts. When the electronic device and the power converter are connected to each other, each may advertise to the other that capabilities are present that exceed industry standards. At the same time, standard-compliant discovery operations may be performed to probe the value of the resistance of the resistor that is coupled across the data contacts. When extended capabilities are discovered, extended functions may be performed including accelerated charging functions and data communications functions.

  • Patent number: 10680833
Abstract: A secure element (SE) with a notion of time useful for checking secure items is disclosed herein. Use of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) with secure elements is improved by verifying secure items used by an SE. Methods of obtaining time information by the SE include push, pull, opportunistic, local interface, and multi-check methods. The SE uses the time information to evaluate arriving and stored public key certificates and to discard those which fail the evaluation. The SE, in some embodiments, uses the time information in cooperation with certificate revocation lists (CRLs) and/or online certificate status protocol (OCSP) stapling procedures. A multi-check architecture is provided herein by which more than entity is involved in checking a time value before the time value reaches the SE. The multi-check architecture uses both PKI and blockchain techniques.

  • Patent number: 10681162
Abstract: In some implementations, a server device can segment users based on user engagement with an application on a user device. For example, server device can receive user event data from many user devices indicating user activities with respect to the application and/or content presented by the application. The server device can generate user engagement segments based on the received user event data. The server device can generate predictive models for each user engagement segment based on the received user event data. The server device can determine which particular user engagement segments a particular user is associated with based on user event data associated with the particular user and/or the predictions generated by the predictive models. The application on the user device associated with the particular user can then be configured according to the user engagement segments associated with the particular user.

  • Patent number: 10678542
Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods for implementing a non-shifting reservation station. A dispatch unit may write an operation into any entry of a reservation station. The reservation station may include an age matrix for determining the relative ages of the operations stored in the entries of the reservation station. The reservation station may include selection logic which is configured to pick the oldest ready operation from the reservation station based on the values stored in the age matrix. The selection logic may utilize control logic to mask off columns of an age matrix corresponding to non-ready operation so as to determine which operation is the oldest ready operation in the reservation station. Also, the reservation station may be configured to dequeue operations early when these operations do not have load dependency.

  • Patent number: 10681641
Abstract: A device, system, and method detect an activity and utilize a mitigation scheme. The method is performed at a device that is configured to establish a network connection to a network, the network including a plurality of areas, each area being defined based on a grouping of a plurality of neighboring cells, the device being associated with one of the areas at a select time. The method includes determining between an activity status and a non-activity status associated with the device. When the activity status is determined, the method includes determining an area update rate indicating a number of changes to the associated area over a period of time. When the area update rate exceeds a predetermined update rate threshold, the method includes selecting a mitigation scheme configured to reduce an amount of power used by the device.
