  • Patent number: 10615990
Abstract: Duplicate processing of events registered at a root server is avoided. An electronic subscriber identity module (eSIM) server pushes, to a root server, data in the form of notification data portions indicating that commands or events need to be processed by a device. The device includes an embedded universal integrated circuit card (eUICC). The device pulls a notification list from the root server. The notification list includes one or more notification data portions. The device checks a given notification data portion to see if it represents a duplicate before communicating with the eSIM server to perform further processing related to the event. The device bases the check for duplication on an event history and/or on a hash value where the hash value is based on one or more eSIMs installed in the eUICC. The device is able to prioritize notification data portions before processing them.

  • Patent number: 10613732
Abstract: An electronic device displays an arrangement that includes a plurality of content items and has a first axis and a second axis. While displaying the plurality of content items, the electronic device receives an input. In accordance with a determination that a first portion of the input is in a first direction corresponding to movement along the first axis, the electronic device scrolls the displayed content items along the first axis in response to the input without changing a selection state of content items in the arrangement. In accordance with a determination that the first portion of the input is in a second direction different from the first direction, corresponding to movement along the second axis, the electronic device changes a selection state of one or more content items in the plurality of content items in response to the input based on a starting location of the input.

  • Patent number: 10615551
Abstract: Structures, methods, and apparatus that provide connector receptacles that have a reduced tendency to scratch and otherwise mar connector inserts, have an aesthetically-pleasing appearance, and have an improved tactile response when inserts are inserted. Various examples reduce scratches and wear by utilizing domes, cylinders, balls, or other structures as finger contacts in a connector receptacle. Another example provides aesthetically-pleasing connector receptacle enclosures by forming receptacle enclosures using the same type of material, or material having the same or similar color or texture, as is used for enclosing the electronic device that includes the receptacle. Another example provides an aesthetically-pleasing receptacle enclosure by forming receptacle enclosures that are, in part or in whole, contiguous or formed with the housing. Another embodiment provides a connector receptacle having a housing where a portion of the housing has been removed to save space.

  • Patent number: 10616759
Abstract: Some embodiments relate to a device that transmits/receives encrypted communications with another device. A first device, such as a smart phone or smart watch, may generate a message associated with a certain data class, which may determine the security procedure used in the communication of the message. The first device may establish an encryption session for the purpose of communicating the message to a second device. Prior to sending the message, the first device may wait until encryption credentials are accessible according to certain conditions, which may be determined at least in part by the data class of the message. Similarly, after receiving the message, the second device may not be able to decrypt the message until encryption credentials are accessible according to certain conditions, which may be determined at least in part by the message data class.

  • Patent number: 10609990
Abstract: A band for a wearable device includes first and second band links. The first band link includes one or more magnetic pins and the second band link includes one or more magnets and one or more apertures. In a first position, the first and second band links mechanically and magnetically couple by the magnet pulling the magnetic pin into the aperture. In a second position, the first and second band links mechanically and magnetically decouple by the magnetic pin being forced from the aperture. In this way, the band links may be easily and quickly coupled to and/or decoupled from each other.

  • Patent number: 10613987
Abstract: In some embodiments, a system includes an execution unit, a register file, an operand cache, and a predication control circuit. Operands identified by an instruction may be stored in the operand cache. One or more entries of the operand cache that store the operands may be marked as dirty. The predication control circuit may identify an instruction as having an unresolved predication state. Subsequent to initiating execution of the instruction, the predication control circuit may receive results of the at least one unresolved conditional instruction. In response to the results indicating the instruction has a known-to-execute predication state, the predication control circuit may initiate writing, in the operand cache, results of executing the instruction. In response to the results indicating the instruction has a known-not-to-execute predication state, the predication control circuit may prevent the results from executing the instruction from being written in the operand cache.

  • Publication number: 20200105024
Abstract: A system comprises an encoder configured to compress attribute information and/or spatial information for a point cloud and/or a decoder configured to decompress compressed attribute and/or spatial information for the point cloud. The encoder is configured to convert a point cloud into an image based representation. The encoder packs patch images into an image frame and fills empty spaces in the image frame with a padding. Various compression strategies may be used to encode an occupancy map and related block-to-patch information indicating which portions of the image frame correspond to which packed patches. Packed image frames comprising patches and padding, along with an encoded occupancy map and related block-to-patch information are sent to a decoder. The decoder is configured to generate a decompressed point cloud based on the packed image frames, compressed occupancy map, and related block-to-patch information.

  • Publication number: 20200106959
Abstract: A light field panorama system in which a user holding a mobile device performs a gesture to capture images of a scene from different positions. Additional information, for example position and orientation information, may also be captured. The images and information may be processed to determine metadata including the relative positions of the images and depth information for the images. The images and metadata may be stored as a light field panorama. The light field panorama may be processed by a rendering engine to render different 3D views of the scene to allow a viewer to explore the scene from different positions and angles with six degrees of freedom. Using a rendering and viewing system such as a mobile device or head-mounted display, the viewer may see behind or over objects in the scene, zoom in or out on the scene, or view different parts of the scene.
