Patent number: 4901979Abstract: The valve of the present invention comprises a tubular body (1) the central ortion (6) of which defines a shutoff chamber (7) which is accessible via an inspection trap (15). Within this chamber (7) there is housed a removable annular pre-body (8) provided with two radial boreholes (9, 10) serving for the rotary mounting of the shaft (11) of the butterfly (12). Sealing means which cooperate with the body (1), the pre-body (8) and the butterfly (12) make it possible to assure the upstream/downstream tightness of the valve. The inspection trap (15) is closed by a cap (28) provided with a passage within which there is rotatably mounted a drive shaft (35) which is coupled to the shaft (11). This structure permits greater ease of access to the inner parts of the valve, a decrease in volume and weight, and greater ease in manufacture.Type: GrantFiled: June 5, 1989Date of Patent: February 20, 1990Assignee: Applications Mecaniques et Robinetterie Industrielle (A. Patent number: 4608913Abstract: The present invention provides an actuator comprising a hydraulic cylinder whose rod is connected to the shaft driving the controlled device by means of a transmission. The end of the rod of the cylinder penetrates into an accumulation chamber connected to the intake circuit of said cylinder through a distribution circuit comprising at least one non return calibrated valve and a balancing distributor with push rod and spring return which allows the drive fluid of the cylinder to be admitted into said accumulation chamber when the rod of said cylinder is at the end of travel under the effect of the drive fluid.Type: GrantFiled: May 25, 1984Date of Patent: September 2, 1986Assignee: Applications Mecaniques et Robinetterie Industrielle A.M.R.I.Inventor: Maurice Bonafous

Patent number: 4593916Abstract: A sealing device for providing the upstream/downstream sealing of a valve comprising a valving member movable inside the bore of a tubular body and comprising at its periphery a sealing surface coming to bear on a sealing packing mounted in the body at the end of the valving stroke. This sealing packing comprises a dynamic annular sealing element and a coronal metal membrane, whose outer edge portion has flat radial part applied axially against a steep side of a shoulder in the bore of the body, for providing static sealing therewith.Type: GrantFiled: June 27, 1985Date of Patent: June 10, 1986Assignee: Applications Mecaniques et Robinetterie Industrielle (A.M.R.I.)Inventors: Rene Laulhe, Jean-Claude Garrigues

Patent number: 4415170Abstract: A flexible double toric sealing ring comprising two toric sealing ring structures 2, 3 which ensure, respectively, a static seal and a dynamic seal. A counter ring is mounted radially on the second sealing ring structure and floats with it to allow self centering of the arrangement with respect to the valve seat. A sealing membrane 8 presents an elastically deformable structure 12 interconnecting the two sealing ring structures 2 and 3 while partially covering them. The two sealing ring structures 2, 3 are mounted on opposite sides of the middle section 11 of membrane 8. This double toric sealing ring can be advantageously applied to a butterfly valve.Type: GrantFiled: January 5, 1982Date of Patent: November 15, 1983Assignee: Applications Mecaniques et Robinetterie Industrielle A.M.R.I.Inventor: Maurice Bonafous

Patent number: 4351511Abstract: The invention concerns a sealing gasket comprising a housing defining a central concavity bordered by two lateral wings, an elastic support housed in the said concavity, a covering presenting a good resistance to wear and a coefficient of low friction which covers over the said concavity and comes back on the lateral wings upon which it comes to be fastened. The invention is applied especially to obturators such as fluid-tight regulator valves.Type: GrantFiled: October 14, 1980Date of Patent: September 28, 1982Assignee: Applications Mecanique et Robinetterie Industrielle, A.M.R.I.Inventor: Jean-Claude Garrigues

Patent number: 4070002Abstract: An actuator for a valve in which valve opening and closing is effected via a rectilinearly movable member having, at one end, a driving device and, at its other end, a return-movement arrangement. To-and fro movement of the member under the control of the driving device and return-movement arrangement opens or closes the valve, or vice versa. The return-movement arrangement includes a ramp connected to the member and a resilient energy storing cushion for acting oppositely to the driving device on the member with a bridging roller transmission rolling contacting the ramp so that, depending on direction of movement of the member, energy is either stored in or dissipated from the cushion.Type: GrantFiled: March 17, 1976Date of Patent: January 24, 1978Assignee: Applications Mecaniques et Robinetterie Industrielle A.M.R.I.Inventor: Maurice Bonafous

Patent number: 4006761Abstract: Apparatus for supplying a liquid product to a pipe connected to the bottom of a vessel from a flexible conduit connected to a distribution system comprising a tank valve connected to the pipe and a coupling connected to the flexible conduit and adapted for connection to the tank valve. The tank valve includes a hollow body one part of which has a large aperture and a coupling mechanism for attachment with the coupling; a flap valve is disposed in the body for closing the aperture and the flap valve is connected via a linkage to an external operating lever; the coupling has a main casing with a connecting nose for lockable connection with the coupling mechanism of the body of the tank valve. A closure member is disposed in the casing for controlling flow of liquid product from the flexible conduit to the tank valve and a hydraulic ram acts on the closure member along with a cartridge having three springs of staggered force to provide the closure member with three stable positions of increasing opening.Type: GrantFiled: April 23, 1975Date of Patent: February 8, 1977Assignee: Applications Mecaniques et Robinetterie Industrielles A.M.R.I.Inventor: Maurice Bonafous
