Abstract: A fiberoptic cable having a strain-relieved terminal end in which a length of elastomeric material is bonded to and covers the cable sheath to prevent sharp bending adjacent the terminal and a sleeve is mechanically fitted inside a rigid plastic terminal housing as an adhesive bonding adapter between said sheath and said housing.
Abstract: A fiberoptic cable assembly in which an extruded sheath for the bundle of optical fibers has latex or silicone rubber end casings for handling and strain relief that are molded directly to the cable sheath.
Abstract: Adaptors in combination with light sources for distributing light over fiberoptic cables, each adaptor housing a fiberoptic bifurcated segment for receiving light from the source at one end and dividing between two or more separate outputs at the other end. Permanently mountable adaptors, pluggable adaptors, and adaptors with permanently affixed cables are disclosed.
