Patent number: 12254326Abstract: The disclosed technology includes systems and methods for receiving field data associated with industrial equipment from one or more field devices operating under an event-based data transmission schema to, storing the field data at a remote computing system, receiving a request for the field data from an industrial data polling system operating under a polling protocol, and transmitting the field data, from the remote computing system and to the industrial data polling system, as a polling protocol reply.Type: GrantFiled: April 10, 2023Date of Patent: March 18, 2025Assignee: Applied Information, Inc.Inventors: Bryan Patrick Mulligan, Iain Jeffrey Mulligan, Kyle Williams

Patent number: 11854389Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices are disclosed for improving traffic safety and efficiency. The system includes various signal transmitters and receivers positioned throughout roadways, within automobiles, in smartphones, or supported by a cellular network backbone, for distributing traffic related information to users and traffic controller equipment. Embodiments of the present disclosure allow for vehicles and/or pedestrians to initiate a dual-transmission of cellular and RF signals for changing a traffic light state, where the first signal received at a traffic intersection controller unit is processed for changing the traffic light state (e.g., changing a light from red to green on-demand). Other embodiments of the present disclosure allow for users to receive visible and/or audible traffic related alerts on mobile devices, where the alerts are based on data shared between nearby drivers, pedestrians, and the traffic controlling equipment.Type: GrantFiled: November 23, 2020Date of Patent: December 26, 2023Assignee: Applied Information, Inc.Inventors: Bryan Patrick Mulligan, Iain Jeffrey Mulligan

Patent number: 11747792Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for remotely updating configuration logic on Internet of Things (IoT) devices located physically proximate to industrial systems equipment. The IoT devices are configured to monitor and detect outputs, such as sensor data, corresponding to the industrial systems equipment, and the IoT devices are further configured to operate as gateway devices through which communications are routed between a remote computing system and the industrial systems equipment. The IoT devices operate according to configuration files generated at the remote computing system and transmitted to the IoT devices. The IoT devices are notified by the remote computing system of subsequent updates to their respective configuration files. Responsive to receiving a configuration file update notice, an IoT device may establish a back-channel communication link to the remote computing system across which the updated configuration file is identified and retrieved based at least on an updated timestamp.Type: GrantFiled: February 10, 2023Date of Patent: September 5, 2023Assignee: Applied Information, Inc.Inventor: Bryan Patrick Mulligan

Patent number: 11205345Abstract: Systems, methods, devices, and apparatuses for intelligent traffic signaling are disclosed. Standalone traffic signals are equipped with a plurality of sensors including RF, radar, Wi-Fi, and cellular sensors, etc., for detecting approaching automobiles in an opposing traffic lane. The traffic signal is controlled by a processor at an attached or nearby controller box, and the processor is operable to receive speed, location, and heading data directly from nearby automobiles. The processor determines, based on detected or received data corresponding to approaching automobiles, a level of safeness associated with crossing the opposing traffic lane. The level of safeness is calculated by determining an expected time to arrival of an approaching automobile at the traffic intersection, and comparing the expected time to a width of the opposing traffic lane. A light pattern at the traffic light indicates the calculated level of safeness.Type: GrantFiled: October 2, 2019Date of Patent: December 21, 2021Assignee: Applied Information, Inc.Inventor: Bryan Mulligan
