Abstract: A recording system for capturing images of driving conditions of a vehicle is provided. The vehicle has a plurality of sensors and an instrument panel for displaying situations of the sensors. The recording system includes at least a first camera module disposed in front of the instrument panel for capturing an image of the instrument panel to generate a first image data. Since the driving conditions are captured in the form of an image, the driving conditions can be easily understood by reading the first image data. A recording method for capturing images of the driving conditions of the vehicle is also disclosed. Furthermore, a driving image identification method for identifying the driving conditions is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20080297602
Abstract: An application device operated by infrared (IR) sensing is provided. The application device includes a camera module and an IR sensor. The camera module has a storage unit and is suitable for receiving an enable signal to activate a recording so as to produce an image data. The IR sensor is suitable for sensing whether an IR signal is interrupted, or sensing whether there is an IR radiation in a detecting area of the IR sensor. When the IR sensor senses the IR signal is interrupted or detects an IR radiation from the detecting area of the IR sensor, the IR sensor activates a switch to transmit an enable signal to the camera module so as to start recording image data into the storage unit.

  • Publication number: 20080284586
Abstract: A portable electronic device for both vehicle and home use is provided. The portable electronic device includes a magnetic attachment device having a magnetic element. Another magnetic element is disposed on the support inside the vehicle or home. When the portable electronic device is placed on the support, the controller in the electronic device may be activated in response to the interaction between the first and second magnetic elements and generates a controlling signal to operate the electronic elements in the electronic device. The controller may be deactivated in response to separation of the first magnetic element from the second magnetic element when the portable electronic device is detached from the support.

  • Patent number: 7042508
Abstract: The present invention is a method for presenting the fisheye-camera images. A calibration target with a concentric-and-symmetric pattern (PCT) is utilized to assist in parameterizing a fisheye camera (FIS) in order to ascertain the optical parameters comprising the principal point, the focal length constant and the projection function of the FIS. Hence, the position of an imaged point referring to the principal point on the image plane directly reflects its corresponding zenithal distance ? and azimuthal distance ? of the sight ray in space so as to normalize the imaged point onto a small sphere. Further according to the map projections in cartography capable of transforming the global geometry into flap maps, the interesting area in a field of view can be accordingly transformed by a proper projection method.

  • Patent number: 6985183
Abstract: The present invention is a method for exploring the viewpoint and focal length of a fisheye lens camera (FELC). It employs the characteristic of the central symmetry of the distortion of the fisheye lens (FEL) to set its optic axis by means of a calibration target with a plurality of symmetrically homocentric figures. Once the optic axis is fixed, further disclose the viewpoint (VP) of the FELC along the optic axis through a trail-and-error procedure and calculate its effective focal length and classify it to the primitive projection mode. Because the invention is capable of finding out both the internal and external parameters of the FELC and the calibration method is easy, low-cost, suitable to any projection model, and has greater sensitivity corresponding to an increasing in image distortion, the distortive images can be transformed easily to normal ones which fit in with a central perspective mechanism.
