Abstract: A dispenser including a medium reservoir, a discharge opening, and a feeding device for feeding medium from the medium reservoir to the discharge opening, wherein an actuating handle is displaceable relative to the medium reservoir in an actuation direction to discharge medium. The dispenser includes a protective device with a main segment and a switch segment, the main segment having a base portion and a plurality of protective arms pivotable relative to the base portion. The switch segment is displaceable relative to the main segment between a protective position and an enable position, wherein the switch segment limits maneuverability of the protective arms of the main segment in the protective position and does not limit maneuverability of the protective arms in the enable position.
