  • Patent number: 11486787
Abstract: Systems and methods for monitoring pressure transients and pipe bursts in a pipeline network are provided. The system can include a pressure sensor for measuring pressure in a pipe and generating a pressure signal, and a hydrophone for detecting a change of the pressure and generating a hydrophone signal. The system can include a high pass filter that can filter a portion of the hydrophone signal corresponding to a particular frequency. The system can include a comparator that generates an interrupt signal when the hydrophone signal satisfies a threshold value. The system can include a microcontroller which stays in a sleep mode until receiving the interrupt signal. The microcontroller can switch on the pressure sensor to record the pressure signal generated by the pressure sensor after being woken up.

  • Patent number: 10948377
Abstract: Disclosed, is a system for pipe network failure classification, including a network part sensor layer for monitoring pipe(s) operation condition and collecting related parameter values. A system pipe network parts database includes feature parameter value records of pipes in the pipe network. A classification processing logic, intermittently receive sensor collected parameters from said network part sensor layers, references records of the pipe network parts database and retrieves one or more feature parameter values associated with the failed pipe's operational or environmental conditions, and classifies the pipe failure into one of two or more failure categories.

  • Publication number: 20140028459
Abstract: A method and device for leak detection and localization in at least a portion of a of fluid distribution system. At each of two or more locations, a position locator determines the location of the device and a vibration sensor generates a signal indicative of vibrations detected by the vibration sensor at the location. A processor calculates a parameter of the signal indicative of an average power of the signal at the location over a predetermined time period. For each location, the processor stores in a memory the location of the device and the value of calculated parameter, and then determines a location in the fluid distribution system where the calculated parameter has a maximum value satisfying a predetermined criterion.

  • Publication number: 20120007743
Abstract: The invention provides a system for leak detection of a fluid in a pipe network. The system includes flow meters, and vibration detectors adapted to be attached to a pipe at a location in the pipe network. A processor analyzes signals generated by the flow meters and vibration detectors to identify the presence of one or more leaks in the pipe network. The invention also provides a method for detecting and localizing leaks in a pipeline network, and a device comprising a flow meter integral with a vibration detector for use in the system of the invention.
