Abstract: Water-soluble films suitable for water-dissolvable packaging comprising a polyurethane polymer having defined amounts of poly(ethylene oxide) (and optionally poly(propylene oxide)) groups and acid (preferably carboxyl) groups at least 50% neutralised with a base, at least a proportion of which is of the non-volatile type, the polyurethane being made by chain extension of a urethane prepolymer. Also water-soluble packaging (sachets, capsules, bags) made from the films and their use in packaging various materials, and a process for the production of aqueous polyurethane solutions which may be used for making such films.

Abstract: A rigid, water-soluble container is made of an injection molded poly(vinyl alcohol) and/or a cellulose ether, which container encases a fabric care, surface care or dishwashing composition; and a capsule container comprising at least two components made of one or more material(s) that can be molded and which are water soluble or water dispersible or in which a substantial part of the surface of these components is water soluble or water dispersible so as to leave perforations throughout the wall when the capsular container is placed in contact with an aqueous environment. The container has one to six compartments, preferably one, two or three, the content of the various compartments being accessible to the aqueous environment when the capsular container is exposed to such an aqueous environment.

Abstract: A security label has a bar code on the outer surface of an outer layer which is permanently bonded to an inner layer. A pull tab defined in the material of the outer and second layers is joined to a detachable portion extending across the length of the label whereby removal of the pull tab will tear out the detachable portion to prevent recognition of the optically readable pattern.
