    Abstract: To improve the safety of seats for motor vehicles, in particular campings cars, in the event of an accident, at least one vertical column provided on the back rest of the seat has coupling points for two three-point safety belts at an upper end and a coupling flange at a lower end for connecting with one of the vehicle floor or chassis. The column forms a support portion of the seat. The flange may attached directly to a beam of the vehicle chassis.
