Abstract: A computer-implemented system, apparatus and method for accessing a portable device to execute monitoring capabilities. The monitoring capabilities include packet detection, which in turn may be processed to produce media exposure data. The monitoring capabilities are installed using privileged access in order to obtain data from a kernel layer of the portable device, and the device is returned to an original state following installation, in order to comply with operating system requirements. Audio media exposure data may further be integrated with the packet-detected media exposure data.

Abstract: Apparatus, system and method for modifying observational logic for mobile terminal device data analysis. As new data is observed under a first data observation parameter, a determination is made whether temporary settings are enabled to allow a data handling agent/logic to modify observational parameters. Temporary settings may be configured to collect certain data over a predetermined period of time and/or may be disabled on the occurrence of a particular event or status. Once temporary settings are detected, the device opens and applies those settings from observation modification software and collects device data using the temporary setting(s). Once the temporary settings are disabled, the original settings are restored where data is then collected under the original settings until new data is observed or the collection process ends.
Abstract: Systems, apparatuses and methods are disclosed for creating and managing sub-panels. Device data may be received in the system from each of a plurality of user devices, wherein the device data includes device usage data, device configuration data, demographic data and the like. Data collection rules are created or loaded into a central processing apparatus, where the device data is processed in the central processing apparatus to determine if device data related to one or more user devices complies to the data collection rules. Sub-panels may be defined in accordance with the processing, wherein the sub-panel may include one or more devices determined to be compliant with the data collection rules.
Abstract: A mobile terminal for providing life observations by monitoring data being transmitted to/from the terminal. A mobile terminal proxy works in conjunction with a data collection engine and platform connection settings to detect at least on data object type and forward information relating to the data type to the data collection engine. Various observation logic and triggering rules may be implemented for the data collection. A server arrangement may further utilize context and behavior modeling using observations from plural mobile terminals and guiding the mobile terminals for future observations.
Abstract: This invention generally discusses wireless devices, servers and communications networks. In particular the invention pertains to performing observations in one or more mobile terminals and processing and distributing the related data in a server side system through layered data processing activities, and conversion of non-parametric data into parameterized form through the utilization of statistical filtering and semantic data structures. It is further explained how such multi-layer, parametrized data can be utilized for predictive purposes, and how feedback loops can be built with the physical world to improve future predictions. The invention is applicable in various applications, for example in systems where precise digital profiles of users need to be built on a continuous basis, and such profiles need to be dynamically linked to one or several actions triggered by emerging characteristics in the data.
