Publication number: 20070023945Abstract: A process for the manufacturing of an article made of plastic material, the article comprising an expanded foam filled core with an average density in the range 50-600 kg/m3 and a solid or semi solid outer skin with an average density above 700 kg/m3. The process comprises the steps of injecting a predetermined amount of molten thermoplastic material into the cavity of a closed mould, the thermoplastic material containing an expanding agent followed by allowing the thermoplastic material to solidify somewhat closest to the surface of the whereby a skin is formed. A first portion of the mould is then retracted while a second portion of the mould is retained in a closed position, whereby a volumetric increase of the mould cavity is achieved. The pressure in the mould hereby decreased allowing the expanding agent to expand the thermoplastic material. The molten thermoplastic material is then allowed to cool and solidify to a degree where the mould may be opened and the article is removed from the mould.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 26, 2004Publication date: February 1, 2007Applicant: ARCA SYSTEMS ABInventor: Anders Valentinsson

Patent number: 6955273Abstract: Collapsible container, preferably a collapsible bulk container, for the transport and storage of fluent and particle bulk goods. The bulk container includes a carrying base member which is provided with skids, collapsible side walls, preferably a so called liner in the form of a bag shaped inner layer and a lid. The side walls are moveably attached to the base member via hinges and that adjacent side walls are joinable. The lid is provided with one or more profiles, which profiles are intended to exert pressure on a part of the upper side of a filled liner, whereby the possibility for the liner to move in relation to the collapsible container during transport is reduced.Type: GrantFiled: December 19, 2000Date of Patent: October 18, 2005Assignee: Arca Systems ABInventor: Peter Hartwall

Patent number: 6676790Abstract: A process for the manufacturing of non-reinforced load carriers (1) of thermoplastic material. Sheet-shaped work pieces (2) and extended bar sections (3) are manufactured by means of an extruder. The work pieces (2) and bar sections (3) are allowed to cool and post-shrink after the manufacturing. An upper and a lower deck member (11 and 12 respectively) are molded in a number of molds comprising mold halves. A first mold contains shaping cavities being a negative representation of the upper deck member (11). A second mold gives shape to a lower deck member (12). The work pieces (2) are molded against each one cavity by means of vacuum and are pressed together while still hot whereby a hollow unit is formed. Skids (3′) are molded in a similar way. The parts are allowed to cool and post-shrink whereupon they are joined with each other via a number of joining areas (10).Type: GrantFiled: August 21, 2001Date of Patent: January 13, 2004Assignee: Arca Systems ABInventors: Anders Valentinsson, Rasmus Varfeldt, Bengt Grönwall
