  • Patent number: 5930499
Abstract: The invention resides in a computer-aided design system for defining physical placement and floor-planning of electronic circuits on a given substrate. Improve utilization of substrate area is achieved by arranging circuits into structural (e.g., data-path) and non-structural (e.g., non-data-path) zones for effectively segregated chip or board lay-out. Software is provided to receive a netlist file and determine therefrom which components are categorizable within structural portion. Furthermore, software is provided to produce a lay-out file which defines physical placement of the prototype design, wherein structural components are inter-placed with related control components, for example, to provide sliced-structure placement of a semiconductor chip.

  • Patent number: 5351367
Abstract: A line tensioner includes a tensioner body and a first bore extending through the tensioner body. A second bore extends through the tensioner body in a manner spaced from the first bore. Also extending through the tensioner body are a third bore and a fourth bore which are spaced from the first and second bores as well as from each other. A line extends through the four bores of the tensioner body. The length of the line can be selectively adjusted by movement of the tensioner body. The desired length of line can then be tensioned in order to prevent a lengthening of the line.

  • Patent number: 4303238
Abstract: A diver's springboard comprises a top plate having a flat upper surface which extends between a base end and a tip end of the board. A plurality of longitudinally extending, spaced parallel ribs are connected to the underside of the top plate and define a plurality of downwardly opening longitudinal spaces. The ribs are displaced outwardly from either side of a longitudinal centerline of the top plate. An upwardly opening channel-shaped torsion brace is anchored to the underside of the top plate and extends longitudinally of the top plate between the innermost ones of the ribs. A plurality of elongate openings are formed through the top plate in a selected area of the top plate upper surface which extends from a location proximately adjacent to the tip end of the board for a selected distance along the board toward its base end. The openings are formed through the top plate between the innermost ribs and the longitudinal edges of the top plates.

  • Patent number: 4149349
Abstract: A prefabricated consumable assembly for forming a concrete wall structure includes a pair of spaced apart side plates interconnected on their ends by transverse tie members. A single or a pair of insulating panels is positioned within the side plates and structure is associated with each tie member which defines grooves for receiving and holding the side edges of the insulating panel or panels. The groove defining structure may be formed by a detachable clip mounted on the tie members or entirely or in part integral with the tie members. Mechanism is provided for interlocking assembled ones of the prefabricated assemblies to form a wall structure including an inside corner. The side plates may be arranged for bending to form corners.

  • Patent number: 4118981
Abstract: In a flowmeter, a permanent magnet is employed to apply a DC magnetic field to the liquid flowing through a pipe section. The magnet is mounted in a U-shaped housing adapted to fit over a nonmagnetic, nonconductive pipe section. Electrically conducting probes extend through the pipe section to contact liquid flowing through the pipe section at points spaced along a line perpendicular to the direction of the field applied by the magnet and perpendicular to the flow. As the magnet is brought into position over the pipe section, the approach of the magnet to the pipe section is detected by the closing of a reed switch. In response to the reed switch closing, a signal voltage proportional to the voltage across the two probes in contact with the liquid flowing through the pipe is stored on a capacitor.

  • Patent number: 3981154
Abstract: A system for recovering petroleum fluids from underwater fissures, wherein a tank formed of a cylindrical wall having a top closure and an open bottom is adapted to be positioned over the fissure on or near the bed of water without any rigid restraints. The spilled fluids from the fissure will enter the open bottom and pass upwardly toward the top closure where they are stored for later withdrawal. A method for recovering petroleum fluids from underwater fissures.
