Abstract: A lock cylinder which can be fitted into a part of a lock assembly of a door or other operable panel. There is provided a lock cylinder (114; 214; 314; 414; 514; 614; 714) adapted for fitment into the lock housing (12), the lock cylinder comprising a key-operated locking part and an actuator (50), the lock cylinder having a predetermined profile for most of its length, and a securing part (70; 72,74; 76,78; 80,82; 170,172; 270,272; 370) projecting from the predetermined profile. The securing part is adapted to lie underneath a part of the lock assembly in use, such as a face plate of an operating handle of the lock assembly, so that the securing part prevents unauthorised removal of the lock cylinder through the face plate.

Abstract: A shelf support comprising a member adapted for attachment vertically to a wall, the member defining an internal channel and an outwardly facing slot formed by a pair of opposing lips, a shelf support bracket having a shelf supporting portion and a blade portion extending into the channel through the lips, a pair of projections on the blade portion engaging the inner surfaces of the lips, and a pair of channel-engaging wedges pivotably supported by the blade portion and extending along the surface thereof, the wedges having respective integral pegs which are frictionally interengageable to form a bearing on which the wedges pivot with respect to the blade portion, the blade portion being frictionally inserted between the wedges so that the bracket is supported against movement in the channel by the frictional forces between the wedges and the channel and also the cantilever effect of the bracket, for stepless adjustability of said bracket.

Abstract: A door handle mechanism comprising a handle having a spigot journalled in an opening in an attachment plate, the spigot having a circular section bore therein, means for limiting angular movement of the handle with respect to the attachment plate, spring means arranged to oppose angular movement of the handle in one direction, and a cam plate retaining the spigot in the attachment plate at least in part defining a hole shaped to non-rotatably engage with a non-circular section spindle.

Abstract: A shelf support comprising a member adapted for attachment to a wall or other structure said member defining a lipped internal channel of uniform dimensions throughout its length, and a shelf support bracket having a shelf supporting portion and a portion engageable in the lipped channel, and arranged to extend lengthwise thereof, the latter portion carrying a pair of wedges disposed within the channel, that portion being engageable between the wedges to hold the bracket against movement lengthwise of the member, said portion of the bracket being removable from such position between the wedges to allow the bracket, together with the wedges to be moved lengthwise of the member.

Abstract: A window stay comprising an attachment part and an elongated stay bar, the attachment part having pivoted therein a headed pin through the end of which extends a transverse pin on which the stay bar is itself pivoted the further pin occupying a position adjacent to a spigot formed on the attachment part to prevent the pin becoming detached from the attachment part.

Abstract: A letter plate comprising an extruded flap and an extruded frame, the flap and the frame having respective inter-engaging hinge formations which form parts of the respective extruded sections, the flap in one example having an integral lengthwise extending enlargement occupying a correspondingly shaped recess extending lengthwise of the frame.
