Abstract: The disclosure provides an innovative delivery receptacle for receiving objects (such as parcels and mail) deposited into the receptacle and securely storing them once deposited. The receptacle allows for the orientation of the position of an input opening and delivery door for a delivering party, such as a courier, to deposit the objects in the receptacle to be changeable with respect to the orientation of an access opening and access door for a receiving party to remove the objects. In one embodiment, the delivery door also restricts access to the deposited objects while they are deposited into the receptacle. The receptacle may be a stand-alone receptacle or it may be a structure-mounted unit, such as installed in a wall or other structure. The receptacle may comprise a separate first and second sections that may be shipped separately and assembled with the desired orientation.

Abstract: A mailbox kit having a compact shipping volume and methods of assembling such mailbox are disclosed. The mailbox kit includes a roof having an arched shape and opposing elongated roof bottom edges forming the bottom of the arched shape and a mailbox floor positioned under the roof such that the floor and the roof form a compartment. A mailbox left sidewall and right sidewall are positioned within the compartment formed by the roof and the floor. A mailbox front door, handle and flag may also be positioned within the compartment. The mailbox components include lap joint flanges to attach the components of the kit to form an assembled mailbox.

The delivery door is mechanically coupled to the drum such that rotation of the delivery door in a first rotational direction causes rotation of the drum in the opposite rotational direction. The delivery door is rotatable between an open position in which the drum is oriented with the drum access opening aligned with the input opening such that a parcel can be inserted into the drum, and a closed position in which the drum is oriented with the drum access opening aligned with a drop area such that a parcel will exit the drum and enter the drop area.

Abstract: A receptacle for receiving objects, such as mail or parcels, has a main housing having an input opening through which objects may be placed into the receptacle, and a hopper style door rotatable coupled within the housing. The hopper has bottom for receiving an object and a hopper cover disposed under the bottom. The hopper is rotatable between an open position in which the bottom is accessible through the opening and a closed position in which the hopper cover blocks the input opening. A flap is coupled to the hopper and is rotatable between an up position when the hopper is in the open position in which the flap forms a back wall adjacent the rear edge of the bottom, and a down position when the hopper is in the fully closed position in which the flap allows an object to slide off the bottom and out of the hopper.
