Abstract: The pocket video player comprises a screen 1 and a keypad 2. The keypad 2 is composed of rocking keys each controlling two antinomic functions which cannot be activated simultaneously. Three of the adjacent keys (4c, 4d, 4e) constitute a navigator with rocking keys. The central key (4d) controls two opposite directions and the two side keys (4c, 4e) each control one of the two other directions respectively. Useful for increasing the size of the screen, reducing the size of the keypad, and making the actuation of the functions easier and more reliable.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for recording a medium from a terminal receiving multimedia signals of the “Set Top Box” type to a portable player-recorder. The method according to the invention comprises the following stages: identification of a time slot in which said medium is accessible within the terminal, transmission of the settings for recording said medium to the player-recorder by means of a digital link between said terminal and the player-recorder; transmission of the medium to the player-recorder for a real-time recording by the player-recorder; the medium being transmitted via a media link separate from the link for transmission of the settings. In particular, the digital link is a serial link allowing the transmission of editorial data relating to the recorded medium.

Abstract: The invention relates to a system for recording audio/video signals. This system comprises an audio/video signals receiving module, capable of receiving analogue and digital signals, this module being provided with means of conversion of the received signals. It also comprises a storage unit for recording, in digital form, the audio/video signals coming from the said conversion means in response to a record instruction. According to the invention, the storage unit is an autonomous portable player integrated in a removable manner in the said receiving module and comprising: digital storage means, means for reproducing the recorded signals, means for displaying and/or listening to the recorded audio/video signals, and autonomous power supply means rechargeable within the said receiving module.
