Abstract: An anti-glare welding apparatus includes a switch and a controller. The controller is electrically connected to the switch. When the controller determines that the switch is switched from an OFF state to an ON state, the controller generates a welding helmet turn-on signal to switch on a filter of a welding helmet. The controller further generates a welding machine turn-on signal after a first delay time to switch on a welding machine. The filter of the welding helmet can be fully darkened during the first delay time when receiving the welding helmet turn-on signal, and the welding machine is switched on after the filter of the welding helmet is fully darkened. Therefore, there is no welding arc when the filter is darkening, and the eyes of the welding worker can be fully protected from damage.

  • Patent number: 10663779
Abstract: A welding helmet includes a helmet shell and a lens device mounted on the helmet shell. The lens device includes a filter control module and a single LCD panel. The logic control module controls the transmittance of the single LCD panel based on a sensed light signal and a shading-level signal designated by a user. Therefore, when the welding helmet is operated in an environment having intense light such as a welding arc, the single LCD panel will turn dark and lower its transmittance to block the intense light.

  • Patent number: 10172741
Abstract: A power saving welding helmet includes a helmet shell and a lens device. The helmet shell includes a mounting hole to contain the lens device. The lens device has an inner surface and an outer surface, and includes a magnetic sensor, a filter control unit, and a filter lens. The control logic module controls the filter lens according to magnetic signals generated by the magnetic sensor. The filter lens includes a first LCD panel and a second LCD panel respectively controlled by different control signals. Therefore, a refresh time of the first LCD panel and a refresh time of the second LCD panel do not synchronize. A welder does not feel the first LCD panel or the second LCD panel flashing, and the welding experiences this as consistent darkness.

  • Patent number: 8331001
Abstract: The welding filter device includes a light sensor, a microprocessor, a liquid crystal display, and a user interface. The light sensor senses light to generate a welding signal and a light source intensity signal. The microprocessor comprises a determining module, a control module, a regulating module, and a storage module. The determining module receives the welding signal and determines whether to activate a welding mechanism. The control module receives the light source intensity signal and outputs a control signal. The liquid crystal display presents a first display status according to the control signal. The user interface is used to generate a setting signal; wherein when the liquid crystal display presents the first display status, the regulating module receives the setting signal to regulate the settings so that the liquid crystal display presents a second display status. Furthermore, a method for controlling the welding filter device is also disclosed herein.
