Abstract: A method of enhancing a nose area of an image containing a face with a nose visible on the face includes loading the image into a computing device having a processor. The processor defines the nose area on the image, the nose area including a highlighted region corresponding to a middle of the nose, a first shaded region being located on a left side of the nose and bordering the left side of the nose, and a second shaded region being located on a right side of the nose and bordering the right side of the nose. The processor next performs an image enhancement process on the image to create an enhanced image, the image enhancement process including increasing the brightness of the highlighted region and decreasing the brightness of the first shaded region and the second shaded region. The processor then outputs the enhanced image.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for detecting and showing quality of a preview or stored picture in an electronic imaging device, which comprises the steps of determining whether the electronic imaging device is operated in a preview mode or a file mode; detecting at least four features of the preview or stored picture; determining whether each of the features of the preview or stored picture is normal or not; and displaying the preview or stored picture and at least one of four graphical indicators on a LCD screen of the electronic imaging device when it is determined that the feature corresponding to the graphical indicator is not in a normal status. Thus, a user is able to easily identify the features of the preview or stored picture in a graphical way on the LCD screen in a real time while reviewing the preview or stored picture.
Abstract: A focus enhancing method for a portrait in a digital image is applied to an electronic device capable of receiving or reading a digital image and executing a focus enhancing process with respect to a portrait in the digital image, wherein the focus enhancing process includes a foreground definition procedure for defining a head region and a body region of the portrait as a foreground of the digital image, a foreground and background segmentation procedure for cutting away an image other than the foreground from the digital image and defining the result as a background of the digital image, and a foreground and background blending procedure for blurring the background, feathering a transition region coupled to the foreground and the background, and blending the foreground, the transition region and the background to form a new digital image with a prominent portrait.
