Abstract: A combustor heat shield assembly comprises a circumferential array of heat shield panels individually mounted to an inner surface of a combustor shell. Each heat shield panel has opposed front and back faces, the back face facing the inner surface of the combustor shell and being spaced therefrom to define an air gap. The front and back faces have a perimeter including opposed lateral edges extending between opposed circumferentially extending edges. The lateral edges of adjacent heat shield panels have complementary non-linear profiles defining an asymmetric heat shield panel interface.

Abstract: A stackable molded plastic chair has a cup holder is connected to a cylindrical boss on the underside of a chair arm for movement between a retracted position lying underneath the chair arm and an open position extending away from the arm of the chair. The cup holder has a tubular boss having a first portion extending from the top surface of the cup holder and a second portion extending from the bottom surface of the cup holder. The first portion is at least partially within the cylindrical boss on the chair arm. A pin within the tubular boss has two or more spaced apart legs each leg having a foot. As the pin is inserted into the tubular boss the legs will move inward and then will move outward when the feet reach a recess on the inside surface of the cylindrical boss on the chair arm. The feet are each sized and configured to fit into the recess and the legs preferably have an outward curvature.

Abstract: A jitter-associated data generator is provided for generating data associated with jitter. The jitter-associated data generator comprises a first circuit, a second circuit, and a third circuit. The first circuit generates an output including frequency components in a first frequency band common to first and second jitter, from a received digital input, as digital data associated with first jitter. The second circuit generates an output including frequency components in a second frequency band corresponding to the difference between the first and second jitter, from the received input, as differential digital data. The third circuit generates an output including frequency components in a third frequency band including the first and second frequency bands, from the received first jitter-associated digital data and differential digital data, as digital data associated with the second jitter.
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention store data in read-protected storage for use by firmware and then transfer the data or data related to that stored data into a secure execution environment for use during normal platform operation. The read-protected storage is readable only between a time period after platform reset but before the read-protected storage is locked prior to the operating system being loaded. This read-protected storage is locked prior to executing any untrusted code in normal system memory so that the data in the read-protected storage is not exposed to malicious code execution.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods relating to synchronization of communication equipment are disclosed. Synchronization information received from a bonded communication link can be used to synchronize local and/or remote communication equipment, such as femtocell sites coupled to nodes in a ring network. This may involve isolating a frequency reference signal from a DSL (Digital Subscriber Line) communication link which is a constituent link of a bonded communication link, for example. In a ring network, received synchronization information could be used in synchronizing a locally connected installation of communication equipment, and passed for transmission in the ring network for synchronizing other communication equipment. Such dropping and passing of an analog frequency reference signal could be applied in networks having other topologies as well. At least some embodiments of the invention are applicable to optical links.
Abstract: A fabricating method of a recess with asymmetric walls includes the steps of providing a substrate comprising a top surface. A recess is formed in the substrate, wherein the recess comprises a first wall, a second wall and a bottom. A patterned mask is formed to cover the substrate. Part of the top surface adjacent to the second wall is exposed through the patterned mask. Finally, the substrate is removed to form a sloping wall, wherein the sloping wall, the first wall and the bottom form a recess with asymmetric walls.
