Abstract: Provided herein are processes for recovering molybdenum and/or other value metals (e.g., uranium) present in aqueous solutions from a large range of concentrations: from ppm to grams per liter via a solvent extraction process by extracting the molybdenum and/or other value metal from the aqueous solution by contacting it with an organic phase solution containing a phosphinic acid, stripping the molybdenum and/or other value metal from the organic phase solution by contacting it with an aqueous phase strip solution containing an inorganic compound and having a ?1.0 M concentration of free ammonia, and recovering the molybdenum and/or other value metal by separating it from the aqueous phase strip solution. When the molybdenum and/or other value metal are present only in low concentration, the processes can include an organic phase recycle step and/or an aqueous phase strip recycle step in order to concentrate the metal prior to recover.

Abstract: An active air flap apparatus for a vehicle may include a drive flap positional sensor connected with a drive shaft connecting an actuator and a drive flap and detecting a rotational angle of the drive flap, a driven flap pivotally connected with the drive flap through a link mechanism, a driven flap positional sensor connected with a driven shaft pivotally connected with the link member and detecting a rotational angle of the driven flap, and a controller determining whether the drive flap positional sensor, the driven flap positional sensor, a motor of the actuator, and the link member may be defective by monitoring a feedback voltage value of the drive flap positional sensor, a feedback voltage value of the driven flap positional sensor, and a current applied to the motor of the actuator.

The processing unit is arranged to calculate a light-metering value according to the first selection signal and the second selection signal, and force the image-capture module to capture an image according to the light-metering value.

Abstract: An optical touch display panel includes a plurality of resetting signal lines, a plurality of scanning signal lines, and a plurality of optical sensing touch units. Each optical sensing touch unit includes an optical sensing element and a storage capacitor. The optical sensing elements in a first direction are connected electrically to different scanning signal lines, and are configured to respectively receive a control signal. The optical sensing elements in a second direction includes a plurality of groups, and the optical sensing elements of each group are connected electrically to different resetting signal lines, so that each group receives a reset signal. Each optical sensing element outputs a charging signal corresponding to the reset signal to the storage capacitor according to the control signal, so as to reset a voltage of the storage capacitor.

A master device includes a control module for generating a control signal according to a feedback signal. A packet encoding module is coupled to the control module for encoding an original packet to be a transmission packet according to the original packet and the control signal to process a transmission operation. A slave device includes a packet decoding module for decoding the transmission packet to be the original packet or a related display device signal corresponding to the original packet to a display device. A feedback module is coupled to the packet decoding module for generating the feedback signal to the control module of the master device according to a decoding condition of the control module, so as to switch a transmission mode of the transmission operation.

Abstract: A cooling system for a high performance computing system includes a closed-loop cooling cell having two compute racks and a cooling tower between the compute racks. Each compute rack includes at least one blade enclosure, and the cooling tower includes at least one water-cooled heat exchanger and one or more blowers configured to draw warm air from a side of the compute racks towards a back, across the water-cooled heat exchanger, and to circulate cooled air to a side of the compute racks towards a front. The cooling cell further includes a housing enclosing the compute racks and the cooling tower to provide a closed-loop air flow within the cooling cell. The cooling system further includes cooling plate(s) configured to be disposed between two computing boards within the computing blade, and a fluid connection coupled to the cooling plate and in fluid communication with the blade enclosure.

These phosphonium salts may find utility in a wide range of applications, including as surfactants, as polar solvents (ionic liquids), as antimicrobial agents, and as a component of spinning finish in polyamide fibre processing.

Abstract: A method for reading a kernel log upon a kernel panic in an operation system is applicable to a computing device including a processing unit and a storage unit, coupled to the processing unit, for storing the kernel and including a log backup partition and a user data partition. The method includes the computing device performing the operating system by the kernel; the computing device generating a kernel log upon performing the operating system, and writing the kernel log into the log backup partition; and upon a kernel panic occurring and then the processing unit being reset, the computing device performing a kernel initialization procedure including reading and then writing the kernel log in the log backup partition into the user data partition, wherein the kernel log in the log backup partition includes information of a process of operating the kernel before the processing unit is reset.

Abstract: A switching regulator includes a power stage and a controller. The power stage is operable to produce an output voltage. The controller is operable to set a duty cycle for the power stage based on feed-forward control so that the power stage produces the output voltage as a function of an input voltage and a reference voltage provided to the switching regulator. The controller is further operable to adjust the feed-forward control to counteract the effect of one or more nonlinearities of the switching regulator on the output voltage.

Abstract: A computer system running image processing software receives an identification of a desired geographical area to be imaged and collected into an oblique-mosaic image; creates a mathematical model of a virtual camera looking down at an oblique angle, the mathematical model having an oblique-mosaic pixel map of the desired area encompassing multiple source images; assigns surface locations to pixels included in the oblique-mosaic pixel map; creates a ground elevation model of the ground and vertical structures within the oblique-mosaic pixel map using overlapping source images of the desired geographical area, wherein the source oblique images were captured at an oblique angle and compass direction similar to that of the virtual camera; and reprojects, with the mathematical model, source oblique image pixels of the overlapping source images for pixels included in the oblique-mosaic pixel map using the ground elevation model to thereby create an oblique-mosaic image of the desired area.

The tag module can be placed in or on an object and the antenna structure in or on packaging material for use with the object. A patch antenna type RFID tag antenna structure has a ground plane spaced from the patch antenna so as to increase the range of the tag. The ground plane is not substantially larger than, and electrically insulated from, the patch antenna. The ground plane is flexible, so the RFID tag structure can be worn by a human, and can be incorporated into a piece of clothing. A RFID antenna structure for use with a tag reader is made flat and robust so that it can be mounted on the ground to be walked upon or driven over.
