  • Patent number: 6511028
Abstract: This invention is a connector for connecting holders for cable, pipe and other elongated objects to the overhead in buildings and other structures. The connector is a one-piece device molded of plastic. The base section fits into overhead equipment struts while the support section interfaces with the holder. The base has slots in it which ease its installation in the equipment strut. V-shaped legs connecting the support and base ease installation and help prevent the holder from loosening from the connector.

  • Patent number: 6510928
Abstract: A brake cable mounting structure for a drum brake has sufficient support to withstand the reaction force during the brake operation, a function to prevent damage to an inner cable and to prevent water ingress into the brake, a simple structure with less number of parts, and a low-cost advantage. Tubular members 10a, 10b are integrally formed on a back plate 10 by pressing, and a casing cap 22a of an outer casing 22 constituting a brake cable 20 is attached in the tubular members 10a, 10b.

  • Patent number: 6512435
Abstract: A novel bistable actuator of the coaxial plunger type, requiring only a single electrical coil and a single permanent magnet, provides electrical remote control of extension and retraction of a locking pin in a linear power stroke whose two end conditions require no power and are stabilized by the magnet against environmental acceleration as required for missile or aerospace component locking requirements. The coil is located in a cylindrical soft iron stator shell that acts as a magnetic yoke handling the flux loop from the permanent magnet which, fitted with circular end pole plates, forms a moving armature/plunger driving the locking pin. A specially shaped bobbin carries the coil in the shell/yoke and also forms a tubular guide that confines movement of the armature to axial sliding. The shell/yoke is shaped to form two radial air gaps in the flux loop path of the armature magnet: a working gap traversing a portion of the coil and a return gap outside the coil.

  • Patent number: 6511531
Abstract: An air filtering and freshening device comprising a filter element within the intake of the device housing, a motorized fan mounted within the device housing which draws contaminated air into the device, and forces air out of the device through an outlet having separate exhaust and scent discharge passages. The exhaust passage including a plurality of arcuate vanes radiating outwardly from the interior of the device, and being disposed across the exhaust passage to promote efficient operation by reducing the pressure drop through the passage and minimizing operational noise. The scent discharge passage includes a scent element producing a freshening scent. The scent element is removably positioned adjacent the scent discharge passage, which carries high velocity, high pressure filtered air from the motorized fan, picks up the concentrated freshening scent, and discharges in an effective and efficient manner, a continuous stream of freshening scent.

  • Patent number: 6511061
Abstract: A fastener injector (18) includes a plurality of tubes (86) operable to transfer a plurality of different sizes and types of fasteners (20) in a desired orientation. The injector also includes a receiver (88) operable to receive the fasteners (20) in the desired orientation from the tubes (86). The receiver (88) includes a plurality of receiver fingers (90) operable to receive the fasteners (20) from the tubes (86) and retain the fasteners (20) in the desired orientation. An injector blade (106) is operable to transfer the fasteners (20) in the desired orientation from the receiver (88) to a fastener installation device.

  • Patent number: 6511693
Abstract: A frozen slushy drink product in a flexible pouch and a method for producing and packaging the same is provided. A calcium component, a stabilizer component, and a distinctively flavored component are combined and pasteurized at a temperature over about 180° F. The pasteurization causes the stabilizer component, in concert with the calcium component, to cause hydrophilic thickening. The product is packaged in a flexible pouch and is immediately consumable by a consumer after removal from a home freezer and manual manipulation of the pouch in order to break up the ice crystals and ensure a desirable slushy consistency.

  • Patent number: 6510678
Abstract: A lawn mower includes a front wheel suspension system as well as a rear wheel suspension system. A load compensation adjuster is employed as part of the rear wheel suspension system that compensates for riders having significantly differing weights, as well as for weight changes occurring during the mowing operation, such as from grass clippings accumulating in a grass catcher bag.

  • Patent number: 6512992
Abstract: A means of accurately determining the position of a selected location such as at the end of a center-pivot irrigation system by using two Global Positioning System (GPS) receivers. The first GPS receiver is located at a fixed, known position such as at the center of the pivoting irrigation system while the second GPS receiver is located on a moving portion of the irrigation system. The first GPS receiver compares the GPS receiver reported position against the actual position and reports by wire or radio link the position differences to the second GPS, where the differences are used to remove errors from the second receiver's measured position.
