  • Patent number: 4461337
Abstract: A molding installation for the production of bipartite-boxless foundry molds, comprises a molding machine with a molding station wherein a cope and a drag are simultaneously shaped and a conveying means by which the cope and the drag are conveyed along in a closed path from the molding station to a joining and stripping station where the cope and drag are recombined and from which they are removed together from the complete foundry mold with the empty molding boxes returned to the molding station while the boxless foundry mold is transferred to a casting line. At least one processing station is provided between the molding station and the joining and stripping station for conducting finishing work, such as the insertion of cores, on at least one of the two molds.

  • Patent number: 4333731
Abstract: A method for the wet processes in tanneries, e.g. soaking, liming, deliming, bating, pickling and tanning, wherein the liquids or solutions necessary for these processes are injected by high pressure into the hide or skin, and an apparatus for the realization of said method, wherein piston-type shooting devices are arranged in rows and a conveyor is provided receiving the hide or skin conveying it stepwise below the shooting devices and having holding-up members for pressing the hide against the shooting devices while the injection of said liquids or solutions takes place.

  • Patent number: 4319624
Abstract: A machine for the blast cleaning of castings has a drum with a top opening through which abrasive from overhead abrasive throwing wheels is directed onto castings in the drum. The drum is oscillated about its axis through an angle of about 120.degree. and has two floor parts with an angle somewhat less than this between them. Oscillation of the drum makes for tumbling of the casting resting on the floor. The wall of the drum, in addition to the floor parts, has inwardly sloping parts next to the opening. The wall is made up of bars wedge-joined to support rings, sound being absorbed by rubber strips between them and the rings.

  • Patent number: 4195682
Abstract: A method for forming at least one air vent or hole in a casting mold made of molding said and having a top flask with at least one blind hole originating at its parting plane with a bottom flask comprises the steps of pressurizing the mold cavity and drilling the air vent or hole into communication with the blind hole while drawing off the materials produced by drilling directly at the drilling point. An apparatus for performing the above-noted method includes, according to a preferred embodiment, a source of compressed gas having a pressure hood mountable over the inlet of the mold, and a drilling tool disposed within a suction hood which is placed in a sealing engagement with the top flask after the drilling tool has been properly aligned with the blind hole that is to form part of the air vent or hole.

  • Patent number: 4152323
Abstract: A process is disclosed for treating glue stock so as to remove water and fat therefrom and render the glue stock useful as fertilizer, fertilizer supplements or animal feed. The process comprises heating the glue stock to a temperature between 40.degree. and 80.degree. Celsius, mechanically pressing it to express liquid therefrom and after said pressing cooling the glue stock to prevent the decomposition or cementing of the glue stock.

  • Patent number: 4135570
Abstract: A foundry molding installation for producing boxless (or flaskless) sand molds comprises a molding machine having a pattern plate (or match plate) for simultaneous molding of upper and lower bodies (or mold halves) and a shifting device for transporting a molded lower body to a transfer station and simultaneously returning to the molding station, for assembly with the upper body therein, a lower body which has been provided with cores. The cores are inserted at core insertion stations along the sides of a rectangular, closed circulation, roller track which is mainly disposed outside the molding machine. At the molding-machine end the track comprises a tandem shifting apparatus having a transfer station in common with that of the shifting device of the molding machine and being movable back and forth, over the shifting device, so as to return a cored lower body from one side of the track to the transfer station while feeding a fresh lower body to the other side of the track.
