  • Patent number: 7429710
Abstract: A high or medium voltage electrical switch, particularly a GIS type isolating switch with three switching positions and a grounding position, includes a switching element in a closed and sealed enclosure that can be filled with a dielectrically insulating gas, containing a mobile switching element free to move along an axial direction to electrically connect two conducting bars at intervals from each other, and also including a fixed ground contact to be electrically connected to one of the two conducting bars through the switching element when the switch is in the grounding position. The fixed ground contact is offset from the path of the switching element along the axial direction and the switching element forms a Y with a contact pin such that the contact pin and the fixed ground contact engage in each other through displacement of the switching element along the axial direction.

  • Patent number: 7426100
Abstract: A device for the actuation of the movable contacts of a hybrid circuit breaker allows the following time diagram to be implemented: command the opening of the interrupting chamber, offset the opening of the vacuum switch so as to allow the interrupting chamber contacts to separate at a minimum speed and in a way that is synchronous with the separation of the vacuum switch contacts, close the vacuum switch while keeping the interrupting chamber in the open position. Moreover, closing the interrupting chamber does not act upon the contacts of the vacuum switch.

Abstract: In order to reduce the breaking energy of a high-voltage or medium-voltage circuit-breaker, the interrupting chamber (10) contains two contacts (12, 14) mounted to move in opposite directions, and actuated via a single device (20). The two contacts (12, 14) are surrounded by an insulating casing (18) of tubular shape, coupled in fixed manner to the main contact (12). The contacts (12, 14) are actuated by a device having a lever (24) in which each lever arm is coupled to a link, one of the links (32) being secured to the insulating casing (18) and the other link (34) being secured to the second contact (14). The guiding of the drive tube (18) on the main contacts (12b, 14b) makes it possible to improve breaking by keeping clean gas between said main contacts.

Abstract: In order to reduce the breaking energy of a high-voltage or medium-voltage circuit-breaker, the interrupting chamber (10) contains two contacts (12, 14) mounted to move in opposite directions, actuated via a single device (20, 30). The two contacts (12, 14) are driven in opposite directions by a cylindrical cam (22) having slots (26, 28) that co-operate with fixed rods (32, 42), each of which is connected to a respective one of the contacts (12, 14): the profiles of the slots (26, 28) make it possible to manage the speed and the amplitude of the movement of the second contact (14) relative to the main contact (12) without requiring any complex design.

  • Patent number: 7336083
Abstract: A connecting sleeve generally used for a bus bar connection is produced from an insulating elastic material, often an elastomer material, having insulating properties which are deteriorated by partial discharges and decrease over the operating time of the switchboard system. According to the invention, so-called partial discharge measuring methods must be carried out, inter alia also in the UHF range (UHF: ultra high frequency), in order to identify damaging effects on the insulating material in time. For the reliable and simple detection of the measuring signals, the connecting sleeve (M) has an outer, electroconductive surface (OA) which is earthed, and an inner, electroconductive surface (OI) to which the voltage potential of the bus bar (S) is applied, in addition to a coupling electrode (KE) which is integrated into the insulating material (I).

  • Publication number: 20070262055
Abstract: A first switch (10) has a first pair of contacts (12, 14) that are mounted to move relative to each other in translation. A circuit-breaker second switch (20) has a second pair of contacts (21, 24) that are mounted to move relative to each other in translation, the second switch (20) being put in parallel with the first switch (10). A disconnector third switch (30) has a third pair of contacts (32, 34) that are mounted to move relative to each other. Synchronization means (50, 50?) make it possible, while breaking is taking place, for the contacts of the first switch (10) to separate before the contacts of the second switch (20) separate, the contacts of the second switch themselves separating before the third contacts (32, 34) separate fully. The synchronization means are actuated by a servomotor (40).

  • Patent number: 7286968
Abstract: This invention relates to a method for detection of a position of a wave front in a signal received by a detector. This method includes converting the signal into a digital signal, defining a working group of N successive samples in the digital signal, and processing at least some of the samples in the working group. Energy of the signal is calculated from the processed samples in the working group in terms of the root mean square over a sliding window, the window including an optimum number Lopt of samples (Lopt is less than N). Also included is detecting the position of the wave front corresponding to the position of the sample for which the energy of the signal exceeds a threshold D that depends on the value of the energy of the signal previously at the wave front, for the first time.

  • Patent number: 7236351
Abstract: The high-voltage metal-clad substation element comprises at least one circuit-breaker connected electrically and mechanically to at least one set of busbars (3, 4) extending along an axis (D) that extends transversely to the longitudinal axis (AX) of the circuit-breaker. The metal case (1) is fixed to the ground via a hinge which allows the case to tilt slightly when said set of busbars (3, 4) expands along said transverse axis (D). This configuration makes it possible to omit or to reduce the use of axial bellows on the set of busbars, thereby reducing the cost of manufacturing the metal-clad substation. Advantageously, in association with the hinge, the metal case is designed to have some flexibility to reduce mechanical stresses when the set of busbars expands.
