    Abstract: The invention provides “molecular nets” which may be used in diagnostic and other applications to detect analytes in a sample. A molecular net is a branched pseudorandom copolymer comprising two broad classes of subunits: capture agents and linking agents. The subunits self-assemble to form a structure capable of binding to predetermined targets. The binding can then be detected.
