  • Publication number: 20120135537
Abstract: Means and method for analysis of a component of interest in a sample is provided. A small sample cell is provided which decreased dispersion of the sample. Also provided is a device for detection of a component of interest in a sample in which the small sample cell is used with an ultra violet laser in which the energy of the laser is spread over an area such that energy density is above desorption threshold, but the sample not ablated. Rapid and reliable detection of a component of interest is provided with the invention.

  • Publication number: 20100130623
Abstract: Improved methods for production of stilbenoids including resveratrol, pinosylvin and their respective derivatives are provided, including producing root cultures from plant cells and eliciting production of the stilbenes. The plant cells in an embodiment are contacted with substances which elicit production of the stilbenoid compounds.

  • Publication number: 20090180119
Abstract: A multi-color cavity ringdown based spectrometer is housed in a light tight enclosure to detect the presence of trace quantities of gas phase molecules emanating from explosives, drugs, or hazardous materials being transported through the enclosure or compounds contained in a patient's breath. A method is also disclosed for detecting gas phase molecules emanating from explosives, drugs, hazardous materials, or a patient's breath.

  • Publication number: 20080296491
Abstract: Means and method of rapid detection of a compound of interest from an air sample is shown. An air sample is collected, and concentration of the compound of interest can be increased. A portable spectrometer, which preferably is a time-of-flight spectrometer, detects the presence of any of the compound. The system allows for rapid detection of the presence of a compound in an air sample in a field setting.

  • Publication number: 20080032372
Abstract: Improved methods for production of stilbenoids including resveratrol, pinosylvin and their respective derivatives are provided, including producing hairy roots from plant cells and eliciting production of the stilbenes. The plant cells in an embodiment are infected by Agrobacterium to produce hairy roots, and contacted with substances which elicit production of the stilbenoid compounds.
