Abstract: Examples of the disclosure include a method for providing a simulated environment including displaying, at a human-scale point-of-view, at least a first portion of a simulated environment to a user in a first location; receiving one or more user inputs to transition to a large-scale point-of-view; storing a position and orientation of the user at the first location; displaying, at the large-scale point-of-view, at least a second portion of the simulated environment to the user; receiving at least one user input to transition back to the human-scale point-of-view; displaying, at the human-scale point-of-view responsive to receiving the user input, the at least the first portion of the simulated environment to the user at the first location; and locking the position and orientation of the user at the first location responsive to displaying the at least the first portion of the simulated environment to the user at the first location.
