Patent number: 6916104Abstract: A handstrap for hand support of a flashlight having an elongated body, a head end and a tailcap includes a relatively rigid generally annular attachment element for mounting on the flashlight body, and a strap having an end secured to an elastomeric generally annular retaining member adapted for releasable mounting on the flashlight body. With the attachment element mounted on the flashlight body and the flashlight gripped in the palm of the user's hand with the fingers generally encircling the flashlight body, and with a free end of the strap looped about the attachment element, the elastomeric retaining member is attached to the flashlight body so that the strap overlies the back of the hand. The lightweight section includes lock zones of increased thickness for enhancing the strength and durability of the lightweight section and preserving the overall strength and durability of the assembled baton.
