Abstract: A system for validating communications and publications. A mobile device, such as an Internet of Things (IoT) device, generates time, location and possibly environmental data associated with an individual or an event. A secure storage vault stores the time, location, and environmental data generated by the mobile device or an associated server. The storage vault receives communications and publications associated with the individual or the event and that include their own created time, location, and environmental data; compares the stored data from the storage vault with the created data in the communications and publications; and verifies or refutes the authenticity of the communications and publications based on the comparison.

The GIS system tracks locations and movements of the IoT devices and is activated when an IoT device signals detection of a threat or an urgent medical need. Based on locations and escalating state changes of the IoT devices, alerts are provided to the IoT devices, and the threat location, a danger zone and a buffer zone are calculated and displayed on a mobile software application. Based on device proximity to the threat location, the GIS system communicates escape directions and shelter guidance to the mobile software applications of those affected. Smart alert escalations are provided as needed to security, law enforcement and medical personnel.

Abstract: Inconspicuous ballistic armor that may be incorporated into or disguised within everyday articles in the environment in which it is deployed. The ballistic armor includes a ballistic shield, an article attached to the front surface of the ballistic shield, and hand/arm straps attached to a rear surface of the ballistic shield. A thin sheet of hardened abrasion-resistant steel may alternatively be affixed to the ballistic shield core and may wrap around the core slightly to allow for attachment of arm straps and hand holds behind the shield. Examples of the article attached to the front surface include a desktop calendar, a whiteboard, corkboard and artwork. The ballistic shield is formed from high strength, lightweight synthetic fiber that can withstand gunfire. The hand/arm straps may be formed from a webbing strap material that is attached, such as by rivets or special fasteners, to the rear surface of the ballistic shield.
