Patent number: 11784388Abstract: An electronic device is described. This electronic device includes: an interface circuit; and an antenna having a radiator and multiple pairs of reflectors arranged along different axes passing through the radiator in a horizontal plane. A given pair of reflectors includes reflectors on opposite sides of the radiator and along a given axis. During operation, the interface circuit provides control signals to switching elements that selectively electrically couple one or more of the reflectors in the pairs of reflectors to ground, where the one or more of the reflectors modify an antenna radiation pattern of the radiator. Then, the interface circuit communicates, via the antenna, a packet or a frame with a second electronic device, where the communication involves transmitting or receiving wireless signals corresponding to the packet or the frame.Type: GrantFiled: March 23, 2021Date of Patent: October 10, 2023Assignee: ARRIS Enterprise LLCInventors: Khaled A. Publication number: 20220308863Abstract: A computer that dynamically maps traffic to different versions of software is described. During operation, the computer may receive first traffic from a first tenant and second traffic from a second tenant, where the first traffic and the second traffic are addressed to a common computing environment that supports multiple, different tenants. Then, the computer may identify the first tenant based at least in part on first information included in the first traffic, and may identify the second tenant based at least in part on second information included in the second traffic. Moreover, the computer may dynamically map the first traffic to a first version of software and the second traffic to a second version of the software, where the dynamic mapping occurs at runtime. Note that the computer may concurrently execute the first version of the software and the second version of the software.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 30, 2020Publication date: September 29, 2022Applicant: ARRIS ENTERPRISE LLCInventors: RAJESHWARI ZALA, Rajul Harkishan Vora

Publication number: 20220207074Abstract: A system and method for providing content-dependent location information based upon video frame information. In response to ta user command, video frame data is captured from content being viewed and analyzed with respect to location information database. The analysis ideally leverages artificial intelligence and/or machine learning processes and returns a graphical improved content casting audio management. The content-dependent location information is provided to a requesting user graphically and or audibly.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 10, 2021Publication date: June 30, 2022Applicant: ARRIS ENTERPRISE LLCInventors: Vishwanath Kalalbandi, Sunil Kumar Puttaswamy Gowda

Patent number: 11206244Abstract: A method and video decoder system using the method are provided for identifying video frames in an encoded or encrypted video stream without performing decoding or decryption. The method includes: receiving a video data stream comprised of a plurality of transport stream (TS) packets; detecting a first video frame in the video data stream, wherein detection of the first video frame includes registering a last checked position at the start of the video data stream, examining bytes in a next TS packet to identify a predetermined pattern indicating a network abstraction layer (NAL) unit, repeating the examining step until two TS packets have been identified that include an NAL unit, wherein the last checked position is updated after each examining step, and identifying a video frame based on a position of the NAL unit identified in the two TS packets; and repeating the detecting step for a plurality of additional video frames in the video data stream.Type: GrantFiled: December 21, 2018Date of Patent: December 21, 2021Assignee: ARRIS Enterprise LLCInventors: Rafie Shamsaasef, Polly Tang, Kuang Ming Chen, William S. Patent number: 11197043Abstract: In one embodiment, a method receives a network topology of a distributed access architecture and a legacy video network. Video streams include characteristics that are associated with delivery via the legacy video network. The method selects a set of anchor points for a remote physical device in the distributed access architecture where the set of anchor points are associated with a geographic location of the remote physical device. A set of attribute labels are selected for the set of anchor points where the set of attribute labels associated with characteristics of the video streams. The method then generates a definition of video streams based on the anchor points and the attribute labels for a remote physical device configuration and generates the remote physical device configuration for video. The remote physical device configuration is used to provide the video streams to the remote physical device.Type: GrantFiled: June 23, 2020Date of Patent: December 7, 2021Assignee: ARRIS Enterprise LLCInventors: Christopher Poli, Steven J. Patent number: 10542286Abstract: A multi-layer encoder/decoder system is provided that uses base layer intra mode for enhancement layer intra mode prediction. The encoder provides the base layer intra mode in the base layer of a two layer video encoder, and uses the base layer intra mode as one of a plurality of most probable modes (MPMs). Then in determining the enhancement layer intra mode, the MPMs are used.Type: GrantFiled: April 15, 2013Date of Patent: January 21, 2020Assignee: ARRIS Enterprise LLCInventors: Yue Yu, Limin Wang, Jian Lou

Patent number: 10165289Abstract: A process for determining the selection of filters and input samples is provided for scalable video coding. The process provides for re-sampling using video data obtained from an encoder or decoder process of a base layer (BL) in a multi-layer system to improve quality in Scalable High Efficiency Video Coding (SHVC). In order to accommodate other applications such as interlace/progressive scalability and to increase the resolution of the alignment between layers, it is proposed that the phase offset adjustment parameters be signaled.Type: GrantFiled: September 21, 2017Date of Patent: December 25, 2018Assignee: ARRIS Enterprise LLCInventors: Koohyar Minoo, David M. Patent number: 9672722Abstract: The methods, systems, and apparatuses described in this disclosure enable the identification of an alarm condition and the termination of a connection between an MTA and one or more telephony devices. An alarm condition can be identified at an MTA through the monitoring of feedback received from an alarm interface, and the MTA can respond to the identification of the alarm condition by terminating a connection to a telephony device for which communications are not routed through a corresponding alarm interface. An interface between the MTA and alarm interface may route communications to and from a telephony network through a first pair of wires and may receive feedback from the alarm interface through a second pair of wires.Type: GrantFiled: May 13, 2015Date of Patent: June 6, 2017Assignee: ARRIS Enterprise LLCInventors: Kenneth Wayne Everett, Richard A.
