  • Patent number: 11943506
Abstract: A system and method for automatically analyzing and managing a media huh software update. The system and method each utilize available media hub system and diagnostic information to aid in the analysis and installation of a software update. If the installation of the update is determined to require memory capacity in excess of what is currently available within the media hub, an archive and off-loading process is automatically initiated to free the required memory space during the installation process. Any off-loaded information and/or applications are then restored after the installation is complete.

  • Patent number: 11943494
Abstract: Systems and methods for adaptively adjusting a slew rate of a dejitter buffer in a remote device in a distributed access architecture. The slew rate may be adjusted based on measurements of a fullness state of a buffer made over time. The measurements may be used to calculate a frequency offset value between the rate at which data leaves the buffer relative to the rate at which data enters the buffer and/or used to calculate a current working depth of the buffer. The adaptive slew rate adjustments may be based on the frequency offset value and/or the current working depth.

  • Publication number: 20240098492
Abstract: During operation, an access point may provide a first WLAN and a second WLAN, where the first WLAN uses a WPA2-compatible authentication protocol and the second WLAN uses a WPA3-compatible authentication protocol. In response to an association request or a probe request associated with (or from) an electronic device, the access point may establish a connection with the electronic device using the first WLAN. Then, the access point may confirm, with a computer system, that a binding between a passphrase associated with the electronic device and the second WLAN exists. Alternatively, when the binding does not exist, the access point may establish the binding in the computer system. Next, the access point may perform a BSS transition of the electronic device from the first WLAN to the second WLAN.

  • Patent number: 11936858
Abstract: A second level intra prediction mode can be combined with one or more of sixty-seven JVET intra prediction modes during encoding of a coding unit in a video bitstream. Embodiments include making a position dependent intra prediction combination (PDPC) mode available as the second level intra prediction mode. In embodiments, when a PDPC (position dependent intra prediction combination) mode is enabled, the second level intra prediction is combined with one of the 67 selected intra predictor modes. In embodiments, the PDPC mode is only enabled or available for a predetermined subset of intra prediction modes (out of 67 possible modes), in order to reduce encoder complexity and potentially improve coding efficiency. The PDPC mode may be identifies as enabled or available by a list of modes or signaling in the video bitstream.

  • Patent number: 11930445
Abstract: A network device for providing single-carrier quadrature amplitude modulation (SC-QAM) downstream channel fast pre-scanning. An orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) downstream (DS) channel scan in a foreground process and a single-carrier quadrature amplitude modulation (SC-QAM) DS channel scan in a background process are simultaneously performed. When a first OFDM downstream channel is locked onto, OFDM downstream channel is paused while scanning for SC-QAM downstream channels continues. SC-QAM DS channels identified in the background process are stored in a table. Based on a scan of all OFDM channels and failure to lock onto any OFDM DS channels, the SC-QAM DS channel scan in the background process is stopped and a normal SC-QAM DS channel scan is started. SC-QAM DS channels in the table are scanned first to provide fast pre-scanning. A modem becomes operational with a qualified SC-QAM DS channel obtained from the table.
