    Abstract: A locking differential gear carrier comprises a gear carrier housing, a first output shaft, a second output shaft differentially linked to the first output shaft, an internal gear affixed perpendicular to the first output shaft and disposed within the gear carrier housing, and a locking actuator assembly. The locking actuator assembly is disposed exterior to the gear carrier housing and includes a locking ring to which a pin is affixed, the locking ring movable by a servo motor toward and away from the gear carrier housing, the pin disposed in parallel with the first output shaft and passing through the gear carrier housing to selectively engage with a recess of the internal gear to lock the first output shaft to the gear carrier housing and cause the first output shaft and the second output shaft to rotate synchronously.
