  • Patent number: 7165628
Abstract: A harvester for root crops such as beets is provided which preferably provides continuous flow of root crops from a header, along a transfer assembly, through a processing run, and to an elevator assembly. The harvester can be configured to include or accommodate interchangeable header assemblies having different numbers of rows and/or row spacings. The transfer assembly can be of a floating type and helps to provide an even distribution of beets to the grabrollers. The processing run includes full-length cleaning grabrollers disposed parallel to the direction of travel. Modular elevator assemblies can be provided to further enhance harvester versatility. Such an approach includes interchangeable ferris wheel and scrubber chain elevator assemblies. An improved scrubber chain elevator assembly can be used which has a wraparound scrubber chain design. A pivoting tank conveyor for evenly filling a holding tank can be included.

  • Patent number: 5429436
Abstract: A vertical forage mixer is of a unibody-type construction to provide an especially strong and durable unit. The major components of the vertical forage mixer are secured-together, typically by welding, so that the various components are combined and tied together into a structure in which there is no need to isolate one component from any of the other components. A detachable weigh bar and hub combination assembly can be provided. A discharge conveyor can be included which features an adjustable conveyor run for varying discharge locations. A comb assembly can be associated with the discharge conveyor in order to facilitate even outflow of mixed forage or removal of foreign materials. A scroll assembly is also provided which is of a cantilevered variety and which is especially durable and facilitates aggressive mixing, including cutting when desired.

  • Patent number: 4183472
Abstract: A bale and grain feeder device includes an elongate conveyor and table structure which is mounted on the mixer-grinder vehicle chassis. The conveyor and table structure may be positioned to discharge slabs of hay and loose grain into the hammer mill of the mixer-grinder vehicle to permit such material to be chopped or ground into small pieces. A feed chute positions the baled hay on a conveyor and table structure to permit conveyor chains having paddles thereon to rip away portions of the bale. The feed chute may be removed for use with small grains or ear corn. A slab feeder roll cooperates with the conveyor paddles to convey the slabs of hay along the table where the hay or grain is directed to the hammer mill by paddles. A finger roll is used in the inlet area to precisely control the rate at which the bale is fed downwardly.
