  • Patent number: 11438494
Abstract: A viewing device adapted to support an imaging device includes a panel defining an imaging aperture to facilitate a capture of an image, by a camera sensor of the imaging device, of solar phenomena, and a viewing window to facilitate a view, by one of the human eyes, of the solar phenomena. The viewing window is arranged distally from a first longitudinal end of the panel relative to the imaging aperture and is arranged laterally offset from the imaging aperture. The viewing device also includes an optical filter attached to the panel and arranged covering the viewing window to filter parasitic light rays, and an engagement member adapted to releasably engage with the imaging device and retain the imaging device with the panel such that the camera sensor is aligned with the imaging aperture. The viewing device uses an authentication identification to eliminate the risk of counterfeiting and preserve safety.

  • Publication number: 20160243804
Abstract: A method for material deposition employs a printing press, such as those used in cold foil transfers, that permits a greater usage of the foil web than traditional methods. This is achieved by increasing the number of times the foil web is passed through the press, while simultaneously taking into account the area that has not been used and adjusting the impacted area of the foil web accordingly. The foil web is adjusted by using a series of adjustable rollers and angular bars to change the length of the circumferential path the foil takes through the press. By modifying the angle of these rollers and the distance between them, the path can be lengthened or shortened to correspond to the particular needs for a particular print job. This allows the press to use the foil in such a way that reduces foil waste and manufacturer and consumer costs.

  • Patent number: 4658371
Abstract: A method for dispensing fuel has features to prevent theft of fuel and also control maintenance of authorized vehicles. The system includes a portable memory unit which remains with each vehicle. The portable memory unit is removably connected to an on-board computer on the vehicle. The on-board computer senses certain vehicle conditions and changes through transducers carburetor settings. The on-board computer also writes into the portable memory unit a warning if any of the vehicle conditions exceed limits. At the fuel dispensing site, a data processing unit receives the portable memory unit to read from it coded information. A central processing unit is located at a central records site and connected to the remote processing unit for record storage. The remote processing unit reads from the portable memory unit a last mileage at which fuel was dispensed, and compares it to a current mileage entered by the operator into the remote processing unit.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for dispensing fuel has features to prevent theft of fuel and also control maintenance of authorized vehicles. The system includes a portable memory unit which remains with each vehicle. At the fuel dispensing site, a data processing unit receives the portable memory unit to read from it coded information. A central processing unit is located at a central records site and connected to the remote processing unit for record storage. The remote processing unit reads a vehicle identification number and checks it for validity. The remote processing unit also reads a last mileage at which fuel was dispensed, and compares it to a current mileage entered by the operator into the remote processing unit. A next service mileage is also read by the remote processing unit and compared to the current mileage. If the current mileage is less than the last mileage, this is an indication of error, and fuel will not be dispensed.
