  • Patent number: 6344786
Abstract: A telescoping bobbin. The telescoping bobbin includes a first bobbin element and a second bobbin element adapted to receive at least a portion of the first bobbin element. The first bobbin element includes a first member having first and second ends, a first flange extending from the first end of the first member, and a first base extending from the second end of the first member. The second bobbin element includes a second member having first and second ends, a second flange extending from the first end of the second member, and a second base extending from the second end of the second member. The second flange includes a first portion extending generally outward from the second member and a second portion extending generally inward from the second member. When the first bobbin element is received by the second bobbin element, the second portion is adjacent the first flange and the second base covers at least a portion of the first base.

  • Patent number: 6252781
Abstract: A converter comprises a first switch (102) for connecting an input DC voltage to a primary winding (103) of a transformer (104), a second switch (105) for connecting a reset voltage to the transformer, and first and second synchronous rectifiers (109, 110) within a filter circuit (108) for receiving an output voltage waveform from a secondary winding (107) of the transformer and generating therefrom a DC output voltage. The synchronous rectifiers are controlled by the secondary winding. A first one of the synchronous rectifiers (109) couples the secondary winding to an output terminal of the power supply to provide output power during part of the switching cycle. The second synchronous rectifier (110) serves as a “flywheel” for providing load current during a second part of the switching cycle when the first synchronous rectifier is off. The timing of the first and second switches is arranged to prevent simultaneous conduction of the synchronous rectifiers.

  • Patent number: 5917701
Abstract: A fastener for mounting a heat sink to a circuit board. The heat sink has a lower surface, at least one groove in the lower surface defining first and second surfaces extending substantially normal to the lower surface, and a lock recess on each of the first and second surfaces. The circuit board has a plurality of openings in a mounting surface thereof The fastener includes a body having a main portion. A spring clip extends in a first direction from the main portion into the groove and is biased to engage the first and second surfaces of the heat sink. A plurality of latches on the spring clip engage the lock recesses when the spring clip engages the first and second surfaces of the heat sink. A plurality of anchor lugs extend in a second direction from the main portion, opposite the first direction, to be received in respective openings in the board to rigidly attach the fastener to the circuit board.

  • Patent number: 5896270
Abstract: A spring clip includes a continuous spring band forming an angular integral first spring finger for pressing an electronic device package against a flat surface of an apertured substrate. A first bend of less than 90.degree. forms a substantially linear intermediate first band portion extending at an acute angle from the spring finger and a second bend of about 180.degree. extends from the intermediate first band portion, these portions together forming an integral U-shaped member including at least one compressible barb for insertion into a substrate aperture to lock the chip in the substrate and to press a device package between the finger and the substrate. In one embodiment two spring fingers and two oppositely-facing barbs are provided on the U-shaped member so that two spaced packages can be clamped simultaneously on a substrate surface while utilizing a single aperture for the U-shaped member.
