Abstract: The sonic dispersion system includes a sonic dispersion unit (18) mounted upon a mounting assembly (100,102) and having an active surface (116) with a central apex (120) positioned in spaced relationship to the mounting assembly. Material directing units (92,94) direct material against the active surface so that the material is redirected thereby toward the apex. The sonic dispersion unit (18) may be used in combination with a control system (10) which controls the amount of material provided from two separate material sources (14,34).

Abstract: This invention relates to a computer controlled fuel system for an internal combustion engine including a low profile carburetor for permitting engine operation on very lean fuel/air ratios without sacrificing engine performance during critical engine operations such as start up, warm-up and acceleration. The low profile carburetor provides a single point source fuel dispersion and includes one or more throttle controlled, sliding plates for increasing fuel entrainment at low engine speeds by increasing the velocity of the airstream flow through the carburetor just before the dispersion point and by maximizing the lateral distance between the point of fuel dispersion and the carburetor airstream. The computer controlled system includes various threshold circuits for providing additional fuel and/or water injection into the carburetor airstream upon detection of predetermined engine conditions.

Abstract: The computer controlled sonic fuel system employs a fuel computer to convert engine manifold pressure, temperature and RPM into variable fuel pulses which are directed onto the active surface of a sonic fuel dispersion unit. This sonic dispersion unit converts pulses of fuel into a substantially nonpulsating fuel-air mixture having a fuel-air ratio which remains substantially constant regardless of variations in engine manifold pressure, temperature and RPM.This is a division of application Ser. No. 593,001 filed July 3, 1975, which is a division of appln. Ser. No. 293,377 filed Sept. 29, 1972, now U.S. Patent 4,100,896 filed July 18, 1978.
