A hemostatic material containing cationized cellulose and a wound dressing containing the hemostatic are described. At least one of hydroxyl groups of the cationized cellulose is modified with —R2—N+(R3)(R4)(R5).X?, other hydroxyl groups of the cationized cellulose have —H, or —(CH2CH2O)m—H, R2 represents C1-6 alkylene, C2-6 hydroxyalkylene, —(CH2CH2O)1—, or a combination thereof, 1 represents 1 or 2, m represents 1 or 2, and X? may represent an anionic group.
