Patents Assigned to Arzneimittelwerk Dresden
  • Patent number: 4356322
Abstract: A series of novel derivatives of phenoxyalkanolamine of the general formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are the same or different and are hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 2 carbon atoms, methoxy, halogen, nitro, amino or acylamino residues, and the salts thereof, are described, as are methods for their synthesis. The compounds are highly active .beta..sub.1 -specific sympathicomimetics with a partially antagonistic component.

  • Patent number: 4298688
Abstract: A test strip for the detection and determination of glucose in body fluids comprising a carrier demarcated into three zones (a) a measuring zone which is untreated, but may be impregnated with a coloring agent, oxidizing agent, buffer or precipitating agent, (b) a reaction zone containing glucose oxidase and (c) a detection zone composed of at least one strip containing peroxidase and an indicator. The paper test strip is preferably enclosed within a suitably dimensioned capillary tube which contains markings at the end thereof enclosing the measuring zone for limiting the amount of flow liquid to be admitted and additional markings at the end thereof enclosing the detection zone for quantitatively reporting the glucose content.

  • Patent number: 4281062
Abstract: Glucose identification and determination test. A test strip contains a metering zone, a reaction zone with glucose oxidase, and an indicator zone having at least one indicator signal zone of peroxidase and indicator applied in the form of stripes alternating with untreated intermediate spaces. The metering zone may be impregnated with a colorant, oxidizing, precipitating or buffering agent. The glucose oxidase is applied in an acid solution below the isoelectric point to prevent substrate inhibition by means of test fluid diffusion and may be in the form of an immobilized suspension. Together with a flow-inducing agent, the test strip allows a reaction not influenced by the time elapsed after sampling. Intermediate zones located between the reaction zone and the metering zone and/or the identification zone may be prepared with buffering substances. The test strip may be located within a capillary tube of 1-3 mm diameter and 40-120 length made of glass or plastic.

  • Patent number: 4248830
Abstract: A micro test tube adapted for use in carrying out microbiological determinations, and being especially adapted for detection of bacteria in body fluids such as milk and urine comprising a capillary tube which increases in diameter at one end thereof to form a small generally cylindrical sample tube, sealing means for sealing the open ends of the capillary and sample tubes and movable sealing means such as a bead or needle for sealing off the passage between the capillary and sample tube portions of the micro tube, the sealing means sealing for the open end of the sample tube being selected to serve as aspirator means for delivering the sample into the tube and the sealing means for sealing the capillary being selected to also serve as a stand for the micro test tube.

  • Patent number: 4248973
Abstract: A capillary tube indicator for determination of urea concentrations, which permits a simple measurement of the sample without auxiliary aids, provides an easily readable measurement, and does not require the addition of buffers, alkali carbonates or hydroxides. The indicator includes a capillary tube of glass or plastic into which a specially prepared indicator strip is inserted. The reaction system of the indicator strip includes a partially purified urease preparation and 1 to 15% of a saccharide or polysaccharide, preferably glucose. The indicator strip also has zones treated with alkali-sensitive dye, applied so as to give either quantitative or semiquantitative readings of urea concentration.

  • Patent number: 4237291
Abstract: A process for isolating ergot alkaloids from culture suspensions, in which after mechanical filtration, the residue is dried in a fluidized drying bed and the alkaloids are extracted with an aprotic organic solvent, reextracted with a weakly acidic aqueous solution which is subsequently made basic, and finally extracted with a water-immiscible organic solvent, from which the alkaloids are isolated in a conventional manner. In certain instances, the culture suspension is stirred with an adsorbent clay to entrain the water-soluble alkaloids.

  • Patent number: 4086141
Abstract: Ergoline derivatives including alkaloids and 9,10-dihydroalkaloids of the ergotoxine group and including ergometrine are made by forming a submerged culture under aerobic conditions by inoculation of an aqueous medium containing a carbon source, an organic or inorganic nitrogen source or both of these sources, and nutrient salts, the inoculum being spores obtained from a strain of Claviceps purpurea (Fr.) Tul. deposited under number IMET PA 130, and then, after completion of the cultivation, extracting the formed alkaloids from the culture and, if necessary, 9,10-dihydrogenating the extracted alkaloids, and converting the alkaloids into pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts.
