  • Patent number: 10274599
Abstract: A Lidar system configured to have a wide field of view. The LIDAR system includes a substrate. The substrate is planar. An array of electronic laser scan transceiver chips are mounted to the substrate. An lenslet array is spaced apart from the array of electronic laser scans transceivers so as to increase the field of the array of electronic laser scan transceiver chips. A plurality of baffles extend between the array of electronic laser scan transceiver chips and the lenslet array so as to separate the electronic laser scan transceiver chips and the lenslets from each other. The baffles provide structural support for the lenslet array and are further configured to absorb scatter from the laser beams transmitted and received by respective electronic laser scan transceiver chips. Accordingly, the Lidar system increases the field of view of the individual electronic scan transceivers without complicating the manufacturing process relative to Lidar systems with convex substrates.

  • Patent number: 10274924
Abstract: A system and method are presented for docking an actively stabilized platform. The platform includes an active stabilizing mechanism selectively engageable to orient the platform in at least a first axis of rotation. Once the docking procedure is initiated, a docking device engages the platform to prevent rotation in the first axis. When the docking device becomes fixedly engaged with the platform, the active stabilizing mechanism can be disengaged and the platform sustained in a first orientation defined by the first axis of rotation. In addition, the method may sustain the platform aligned in a first spatial position defined by at least two orthogonal axes. Similarly, if the docking device does not provide complete stability for the platform (i.e., engages the platform with a tolerance error), the active stabilizing mechanism can be partially engaged to minimize the tolerance error while minimizing power consumption.

  • Patent number: 10274623
Abstract: A method for determining a displacement seismic image between two seismic images may begin with receiving a first seismic image and a second seismic image. The method may then include generating a first scaled image based on the first seismic image and a second scaled image based on the second seismic image and determining a scaled displacement volume between the two scaled images using an optical flow algorithm. The method may then involve calculating a displacement volume based on the scaled displacement volume and a scaling function used to generate the scaled images. The method may then generate a third seismic image by applying the displacement volume to the second seismic image. The method may then involve determining the difference volume between the first seismic image and the third seismic image.

  • Patent number: 10273886
Abstract: The present invention provides a process for reducing abnormal combustion within a combustion chamber of the engine. The process can include simulation of the piston-driven internal combustion engine with oil droplets from the crankcase entering into the combustion chamber. In addition, the oil drops entering into the combustion chamber can be simulated as hot spots, as can simulation of fuel combustion within the combustion chamber. A probability of pre-ignition for at least a portion of the simulated hot spots as a function of the simulated fuel combustion and the simulated hot spots within the combustion chamber can be calculated and based on the calculation a combustion chamber parameter can be altered such that pre-ignition within the combustion chamber is reduced.
