  • Patent number: 9309977
Abstract: A manifold of a valve conducting gas or liquid has a passage with an inlet and at least one outlet. The passage changes direction from the manifold inlet to the manifold outlet over a length of the passage. The cross-section of the manifold in the region where the passage changes direction, merges in a plurality of sequential sectors from an almost round or oval cross-section over a plurality of cross-sections that are flattened on the inner manifold side again into an almost round or oval cross-section. In the region of the flattened cross-section of the passage, the cross-sectional contour has a plurality of arcuate sections that are continuous with one another.

  • Patent number: 4985083
Abstract: A method and an assembly for decontaminating a material. The material is charged into a container, where at first steam is introduced and fluids including some contaminants are removed. Then extractant is introduced into the container, and fluids comprising condensation water, extractant and contaminants are removed. Then the material is stripped with vapor. The dry or slightly humid material in the container is removed in a condition suitable for return to its place of origin. The used extractant can be purified to be re-used.

  • Patent number: 4502813
Abstract: The asphalt laying machine comprises a rear body divided into sections with smoothing and compacting units suspended through vibration dampers in the frame. Each unit comprises an intermediate part and a smoothing part interconnected by means of a rear shaft bearing and a front connecting rod connected to an eccentric. By virtue of this interconnection an elliptical movement is transferred to the smoothing part during operation of the machine, and this movement produces a heavy tamping at the front edge, a smoothing and vibrating effect at the intermediate area of the ironing plate, and a succeeding tamping and polishing effect at the rear edge area. The tamping foot of a scraper plate suspended on the intermediate part tamps laid asphalt synchronously in opposition to the tamping plate of the ironing plate by virtue of reaction forces transferred through the intermediate part.

  • Patent number: 4458847
Abstract: The dosage granulator comprises a feed hopper receiving reclaimed asphalt to be granulated. Under the lower opening of the feed hopper, a tearing up device is situated which is controlled by a conveyor type weigher mounted thereunder. The tearing up device comprises tearing rollers with knives, gratings, and a plurality of pressure arms reciprocating through the spaces of the gratings to press the material downwards. The tearing rollers rotate to drive the material towards the gratings, where it is cut by the knives in co-operation with said gratings. The dosage granulator may comprise a reciprocating stirrer situated between the tearing rollers. Reclaimed asphalt of a size of up to 30 cm may thereby be cut into granules of 5 cm. The amount of granulated material is adjusted by means of the conveyor tape weigher.

  • Patent number: 4381726
Abstract: An apparatus for applying hot thermoplastic stripe material to a solid surface. The apparatus comprises a pipe circuit including various means for storing and circulating stripe material, an applying device for said material, as well as an electronic control unit controlling the applying device. The applying device comprises a plurality of adjoining controllable gates. Each gate opening is of a width, i.e. the dimension perpendicular to the paper of FIG. 1, corresponding to a width module in the multi-stripe complex to be applied, whereas the height of the gate opening corresponds to the thickness of the applied material. The total width of the gates corresponds at least to the total width of the multi-stripe complex to be applied. Fluid-operated actuating means are present on the applying device, which serve to open and close the gates quickly. In this manner a possibility of a simultaneous applying of several marking stripes in a multi-stripe complex is obtained.

  • Patent number: 4313690
Abstract: An asphalt laying machine having a vibrating smoothing and compacting unit, called screed assembly, and being of the type, which has a main screed with a plurality of laterally slidable extensions. In known machines said units are rigidly interconnected and their dimensions are so large that stationary vibrations may be produced in the smoothing and compacting unit, resulting in a non-homogenous asphalt course. According to the invention the smoothing and compacting unit (5) is divided into a plurality of units (12,13) having respective vibration generating means (24) and being mutually vibration isolated by means of vibration dampers (17A, 17B) ensuring a controlled, vibratory movement. The swing of each unit at the front edge preferably differs from the swing at the rear edge.

  • Patent number: 3964526
Abstract: In cleaning and sterilizing rotary backpressure filling machines which include filling elements and a pressure actuated conveyor operatively associated therewith, the conveyor is adapted to support rinsing vessels used in cleaning the filling elements. More particularly, the cleaning operation of is effected by inserting, fastening and detaching a rinsing vessel upon the filling machine with a rinsing operation occurring while the rinsing vessel is fastened to the machine. The rinsing vessel includes axially movable sleeve which cooperates with radially movable clamping members, preferably in the form of spherical balls, to attach the rinsing vessel to an air and/or gas fill pipe of the filling machine, with pressure being introduced into the rinsing vessel to actuate valve means enabling flow of cleansing fluid through the machine.
