  • Patent number: 9068536
Abstract: In an EGR valve, an actuator includes a coil, a rotor body to be driven to rotate when the coil is energized with electric current, and a converting mechanism to convert rotational movement of the rotor body into stroke movement of the rod to bring a valve into or out of contact with a seat. The rod includes a stopper that will contact with a protrusion of the rotor body when the valve is placed in a full closed state. An end face of the stopper and an end face of the protrusion are slanted with respect to a stroke direction of stroke movement of the rod.

  • Publication number: 20140338645
Abstract: If the pressure in a supply passage drops at a speed greater than a first determination speed in a state in which a first mode for supplying gas fuel to an internal combustion engine is selected, a control apparatus inhibits selection of the first mode. Then, the control apparatus switches from the first mode to a second mode, in energy other than gas fuel is used. In this state, if the pressure in the supply passage drops at a speed greater than a second determination speed, the control apparatus maintains the state in which the second mode is selected. If the pressure in the supply passage drops at a speed lower than the second determination speed, the control apparatus cancels the inhibition of selection of the first mode when it is detected that a manual on-off valve is opened.

  • Publication number: 20140116547
Abstract: A fuel supply device comprises a fuel tank, a reserve cup, a fuel pump, a jet pump, a fuel supply path, an air introducing path, and a gating mechanism. A fuel pump is disposed inside the reserve cup, and configured to inhale fuel in the reserve cup to exhale a part of the fuel to outside the fuel tank. A fuel supply path connects the fuel pump with the jet pump, and is configured to supply the other part of the fuel exhaled by the fuel pump to the jet pump. An air introducing path is in communication with the fuel supply path, and includes an air hole configured to introduce air from outside the fuel pump. A gating mechanism is configured to close the air hole when the fuel pump is driven, and to open the air hole when the fuel pump stops driving.

  • Publication number: 20090107471
Abstract: The present invention includes a fuel supply apparatus having a pressure regulator for regulating a pressure of fuel supplied from a fuel pump to a target, such as an internal combustion engine of an automobile. The pressure regulator includes a first pressure chamber, a second pressure chamber and a third pressure chamber each configured to be able to receive a supply of the fuel from the fuel pump. A first diaphragm separates the first pressure chamber and the second pressure chamber from each other. A second diaphragm separates the second pressure chamber and the third pressure chamber from each other. The first pressure chamber has a discharge port that can discharge the fuel supplied into the first pressure chamber.

  • Patent number: 4484557
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a variable venturi carburetor adapted for controlling the air-fuel ratio by air bleeding operation which includes an actuator for controlling the amount of bleed air in response to the engine running conditions and a fuel jet having a fuel metering portion and an air bleed portion provided downstream of and adjacent to the fuel metering portion. The air bleed portion has an outlet opening adapted for delivering bleed air into the fuel passage and the inside diameter of the air bleed portion is designed to be slightly larger than that of the fuel metering portion. Especially, at engine idle operation, the restriction area of the air bleed portion is designed to become larger than that adjusted by the actuator and the inside diameter of the fuel passage downstream of the air bleed portion is designed to become large in such a manner that air and fuel flows may not be influenced by the restricting operation of the air bleed portion.
