Abstract: An object detection system includes: a transmission unit transmitting a transmission wave; a reception unit receiving a reception wave which is the transmission wave reflected and returned by an object; a signal processing unit configured to sample a processing target signal corresponding to the reception wave and acquire a difference signal based on a difference between the processing target signal for at least one sample and an average of values of the processing target signals for samples; a detection processing unit detecting, based on a value of the difference signal, a distance to the object a plurality of times with a lapse of time; and an identification processing unit identifying the object based on a transition, with the lapse of time, between the distance to the object and the value of the processing target signal at the detection timing at which the distance to the object is detected.
Abstract: A vehicle door lock device includes a latch mechanism, a lever mechanism, a link mechanism, and an electric actuator, assembled to a housing. The housing includes a housing body and a housing cover joined to each other, and is arranged so that a joining surface between the housing body and the housing cover extends along an up-and-down direction. A sealing portion is formed along a joining portion between the housing body and the housing cover to surround an upper part of an inner space of the housing accommodating the link mechanism and the electric actuator. The sealing portion includes a communication path including one open end, and inner and outer welded portions formed continuously along the communication path on an inner side of the housing and an outer side of the housing with respect to the communication path, respectively. This achieves waterproofing for the electric actuator.
Abstract: A power seat apparatus includes a seat driving mechanism for supporting a seat member. Upon adjustment of the position of the seat member, the rotational torque is transmitted to the seat driving mechanism via a cable which passes through a protection tube. For decreasing the friction between the cable and the protection tube, the cable is covered with another tube made of heat-shrinkable synthetic resin or is coated with synthetic resin.
Abstract: A vehicle having a hydraulic power brake system and a hydraulic power steering system, each having its own pump may utilize the power steering system pump as an emergency back up pump for the power brake system should the pump for the power brake system fail. The fluid under pressure in the accumulator for the power brake system will act upon failure of the power brake pump to initiate the switch over to the power steering pump.
