Patent number: 6139620Abstract: A method of manufacturing a calcium silicate board having a bulk specific gravity of approximately 0.5 to 0.8, which method achieves a decrease in the bulk specific gravity and an increase in the matrix strength of the board without impairing productivity, and the calcium silicate board obtained by this method. The method is characterized in that a material slurry comprising 5 to 30 wt % of calcium silicate hydrate slurry as a solid component, 17 to 50 wt % of calcareous material, 13 to 45 wt % of silica containing material, 2 to 8 wt % of fiber material, and 5 to 40 wt % of inorganic fillers is formed through conventional processes and the obtained molded body is subjected to a hydrothermal reaction in a pressure container.Type: GrantFiled: February 18, 1998Date of Patent: October 31, 2000Assignee: ASK CorporationInventors: Seishiro Suzuki, Masato Sakiyama, Takuya Asami, Tomoki Iwanaga, Yasuhide Oshio, Shigemitsu Shiromoto, Toru Sugiyama, Masaaki Oda

Patent number: 6086804Abstract: Bamboo fibers are utilized to serve as a reinforcing material and for manufacturing an inorganic molded body. In order to produce the bamboo fibers with excellent durability, in a first step bamboo material is compressed to be roughly crushed and in a second step the roughly crushed bamboo material is fiberized using a grinding machine. The moisture content of the bamboo material subjected to the first step is set to be more than 65%. After the completion of at least one of the first and second steps a drying step is taken so that the moisture content of the bamboo material is adjusted to within the range of 3 to 35%.Type: GrantFiled: July 10, 1996Date of Patent: July 11, 2000Assignee: ASK CorporationInventors: Norihito Akiyama, Shoichiro Irie

Patent number: 5952087Abstract: The object of the present invention is to improve the overall strength and interlaminar strength of a compact (green sheet) before hydrothermal reaction by using alunites, alums and aluminum sulfate having a specified specific surface area which does not require the addition of a setting retarder or a curing accelerator together with a curing agent in order to provide a method of manufacture for a lightweight calcium silicate board which does not give rise to interlaminar peeling or bursting during hydrothermal reaction and to provide such a calcium silicate board. The method of manufacture for a calcium silicate board according to the present invention is characterized by use of one or more species selected from alunites and alums with a Blaine specific surface area of 4000 cm.sup.2 /g or more or aluminum sulfate with a Blaine specific surface area of 2000 cm.sup.2 /g or more.Type: GrantFiled: August 19, 1998Date of Patent: September 14, 1999Assignee: ASK CorporationInventors: Masato Sakiyama, Takuya Asami, Tomoki Iwanaga, Yasuhide Oshio, Masaaki Oda

Patent number: 5599489Abstract: A molded article of fluorine-containing polymer, especially of polytetrafluoroethylene, with increased water-repellency, and a jig for holding articles to be washed during washing processes using an aqueous washing medium. The molded article with superior water-repellency can be obtained by a treatment of the surface of fluorine-containing polymer with a fluorine-containing gas after roughening of the surface. The water-repellent jig made of the surface treated polytetrafluoroethylene is suited for use as a carrier for washing semi-conductor wafers and glass plates or guide rolls of a liquid crystal display device.Type: GrantFiled: May 25, 1995Date of Patent: February 4, 1997Assignees: Onoda Cement Co., Ltd., ASK CorporationInventors: Yukinori Saiki, Mina Ichikawa, Massatsu Shimomura, Masahiro Ono, Nobuatsu Watanabe

Patent number: 5556040Abstract: A method of improving dispersibility of vegetable fiber in which vegetable fibers obtained by opening up a vegetable material are caused to pass through at least one set of rolls to improve the dispersibility of the vegetable fibers, where each set of rolls comprises at least two rolls which have a large number of teeth or a large number of pins and are rotated in the same direction. According to the present invention, it is possible to improve dispersibility of vegetable fibers which have conventionally been unable to be uniformly blended with other materials due to lumping and/or entwining, thereby providing an advantage that uniform blending with other materials becomes possible.Type: GrantFiled: January 19, 1994Date of Patent: September 17, 1996Assignees: ASK Corporation, Sanshin Thermal Insulation Co., Ltd.Inventors: Shoichiro Irie, Motonobu Abe, Norihito Akiyama

Patent number: 5415821Abstract: A fiber reinforced inorganic hardened body is manufactured from raw material including of a mixture of reinforcing fiber such as bamboo fiber, water-hardening inorganic binder and water by a manufacturing apparatus for stirring and mixing such raw material and forming it into a mat configuration laminated with the thin layers of fine fibers on the both front and rear sides of the thick layer of the normal raw material. The fine fiber material adhered with the water-hardening binder is partially separated from the main raw material at both the material supply side and material discharge side of a pin-type roll set. The portion of the fine fiber separated from the main raw material is first supplied to the upstream side of of the forming conveyor to form a first layer of fine fiber.Type: GrantFiled: October 12, 1993Date of Patent: May 16, 1995Assignees: Ask Corporation, Sanshin Thermal Insulation Co., Ltd.Inventors: Shoichiro Irie, Motonobu Abe, Norihito Akiyama
