  • Publication number: 20090146645
Abstract: In order to be able to perform a measurement of the run time of an electrical impulse in a position sensor through a single slow timed timing generator, while still capable to achieve a high precision of the measurement result, the entire run time is determined, so that the number of the completely performed system timings is counted as a coarse time value, and the fractions thereof are counted as a fine time value, in which the electrical impulse is started at a fixed point in time of the system timing, e.g. at the beginning of the timing, and the difference value is measured between the end of the coarse time interval and the arrival of the wave as a fine time interval, which is then digitized and computed with the coarse time value.

  • Patent number: 7463021
Abstract: The invention relates to a sensor element and to a path sensor constructed therefrom. The optical waveguide accommodated inside a supporting body, for example, a tube has to be placed in a defined position with regard to the elements of a board. In order to obtain a design that is both simple and easy to assemble, the invention provides that the head board, without its own surrounding housing, is fixed, for instance, glued directly inside a recess of the supporting body that is tubular for the most part.

  • Patent number: 7263782
Abstract: As a rule, measuring cable position sensors consist of an axial arrangement of flat spiral spring, cable drum, and encoder. By locating the flat spiral spring within the interior of the cable drum, the construction length is reduced on one hand, and it becomes possible on the other hand to locate the cable outlet in one of the outer corners of the housing, which improves the application capabilities of the sensor.

  • Patent number: 6680603
Abstract: In a high-efficiency method and pulse generator for generating short voltage pulses by means of a voltage booster having a first switch, an inductor and a storage capacitor, the first switch generates in the inductor current pulses which are fed to the storage capacitor when the output voltage falls below a predetermined limit value. The pulse generator thus generates a pulse output voltage which is greater than a fed input voltage and is in any desired relationship therewith. The pulse output voltage is fed to a load element by an output switch. The power losses remain low due to pulse-wise charging of a storage capacitor with current pulses.

  • Patent number: 6479986
Abstract: A time/analog converter for adjusting the zero point and amplification of the output characteristic of a sensor includes an integrator whose output is connected to the input of a holding member. A reference voltage and the output voltage of the holding member occur at the input of the integrator. The integrator output voltage is applied to the holding member for a third time interval. A controllable pulse shaper is connected to one of the switches and can close it for a required time interval. A related method is also described.
