  • Patent number: 11431266
Abstract: A piezoelectric motor may include a stator, a rotor rotating about a rotational axis and at least one piezoelectric element driving the rotor and maintained by the stator. Mechanical reliability and performance levels of a piezoelectric motor may be increased in that the at least one piezoelectric element may be mounted in an oscillating housing that oscillates with respect to the stator about the pivot axis.

  • Patent number: 9118263
Abstract: A piezo motor has a stator and a rotor as well as a drive finger which is held by the stator, drives the rotor and interacts with at least one piezo element. In order to improve the force transmission, the free end of the drive finger moves a driver jaw, which can be pressed against a ring surface of the rotor. The free end of the drive finger is held such that it can move in the longitudinal direction between two stops on the driver jaw, and the driver jaw can be pressed against the rotor, in time with the drive movement of the drive finger, by at least one piezo actuator during the drive movement of the drive finger, and can be pivoted in the drive direction and back about the rotor axis, together with the piezo actuator, corresponding to the magnitude of a deflection of the drive finger.

Abstract: A method and a device for analyzing a liquid is provided, in which the liquid is distributed to a plurality of containers, and which enables the rapid and inexpensive performing of a multitude of analyses in liquids, in particular DNA analyses, in micro-arrays. The liquid is supplied to a transparent analytical plate which includes a matrix with a plurality of at least unilaterally closed receptacle chambers arranged adjacent to each other. Axially-displaceable plungers are moved towards walls of the receptacle chambers and the analytical plates are transported towards the plungers using a transport apparatus. The liquid can be distributed into the receptacle chambers using mobile elements of the analytical plate, and the elements may be moved by the plungers. At least one axially displaceable plunger may be heated to a preset temperature value and impart this temperature to the accommodating chamber.

  • Patent number: 8693077
Abstract: A display includes at least one electronically controllable pixel which has at least one color level which is formed by a flat container, the interior of which is connected to a color reservoir. The content of the color reservoir can be pressurized by electronic control of an actuating drive, which acts on a movable wall of the color reservoir in such a way that colorant liquid moves from the color reservoir into the color level, and, by reducing the pressure in the color reservoir, the colored liquid is transported back into the color reservoir and a transparent fluid moves into the color level. A wall of the color reservoir faces away from the color level and at least partially forms the movable wall. An actuator of the actuating drive causes the displacement of the movable wall and moves in a plane parallel to the plane of the color reservoir.

  • Patent number: 8384986
Abstract: An image area is described comprising numerous pixels arranged in a raster-like manner which have at least three color levels which are formed by flat transparent chambers. These chambers of the color levels are each connected to a reservoir whose content is electronically movable in such a way that colored fluid flows from the reservoir into the color level or from the color level into the reservoir. For visual and manufacturing-related reasons, the pixels and their color levels in the image plane have substantially the shape of an isosceles triangle and the channels for the supply of the colored fluids are flat and situated on the three different sides of the pixel.

  • Patent number: 8331009
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for mixing colors in a display unit with pixels that are arranged like a raster. According to said method, each pixel is provided with at least three color mirrors which are disposed behind or next to each other and are formed by transparent receptacles whose interiors are connected to reservoirs via ducts, while a colored liquid, e.g. a red liquid, as well as a fully transparent medium that is immiscible with colored liquid can be moved into the color mirrors and the reservoirs thereof, the fully transparent medium having the effect of making the color of the background in the color mirror appear white, for example. According to the invention, color is mixed by alternately moving the colored liquid and the fully transparent medium into the color mirrors in a rapid sequence, the time fraction during which the colored liquid or the fully transparent medium is located in the color mirror being controllable.

  • Patent number: 7834845
Abstract: A display for creating colored images and text that is visible in incident light. The screen of the display includes pixels arranged in a grid pattern, each pixel having at least three colored mirrors, arranged next to one another or behind one another for the colors red, green and blue or cyan, magenta and yellow. The mirrors are configured from flat, transparent containers, whose interiors are connected to color reservoirs so that the contents of the latter can be displaced by control electronics in such a way that transparent colored liquid is transported from the color reservoirs to the colored mirrors or vice versa. Light sources, which may each be assigned to a single pixel, are located behind the colored mirrors of the pixels, each individual source being electronically controlled. A white or silver reflective layer, which is partially or temporarily transparent, is positioned behind the colored mirrors.
