  • Patent number: 10659917
Abstract: A tracking system is disclosed that enables the tracking of a beacon device and a credential device being held by the beacon device. The beacon device may communicate with readers of an access control system using a first communication protocol whereas the credential device being held by the beacon device may communicate with readers of the access control system using a second communication protocol. As the beacon device and the credential device being held by the beacon device may also communicate with readers at different times, a beacon device may be associated with a credential device being held thereby such that tracking of one device enables inferred tracking of the other device.

  • Patent number: 10652233
Abstract: A smart tag and methods of interacting with and authenticating interactions with the same are provided. The smart tag is enabled to generate a Tag Authentication Cryptogram (TAC) and include the TAC in response to a read request. Accordingly, each response generated by the smart tag will include a different TAC. It follows that interactions between the smart tag and a reading device can be authenticated as unique interactions if the TAC is validated as a unique and correct TAC.

  • Patent number: 10608828
Abstract: Providing revocation status of at least one associated credential includes providing a primary credential that is at least initially independent of the associated credential, binding the at least one associated credential to the primary credential, and deeming the at least one associated credential to be revoked if the primary credential is revoked. Providing revocation status of at least one associated credential may also include deeming the at least one associated credential to be not revoked if the primary credential is not revoked. Binding may be independent of the contents of the credentials and may be independent of whether any of the credentials authenticate any other ones of the credentials. The at least one associated credential may be provided on an integrated circuit card (ICC). The ICC may be part of a mobile phone or a smart card.

  • Patent number: 10562334
Abstract: Printing or engraving or other techniques and resulting security documents can help inhibit or prevent tampering or forgery, such as by providing a strikethrough path through characters in a word. A characteristic of the strikethrough path can depend upon a characteristic of the word. For example, the strikethrough path can alternatingly ascend and descend through successive words in a sequence, such that the location of the strikethrough path within a particular character depends on that particular character, upon a location of the character within the word, or both. The strikethrough path can be constructed such that if characters are copied or excised and re-arranged, such re-arrangement is evident by misalignment of one or more portions of the strikethrough path that would otherwise be aligned in the original document.

  • Patent number: 10560436
Abstract: A pseudonymous proximity location device and methods of operating and/or interacting with the same are provided. The pseudonymous proximity location device is configured to provide meaningful information to authorized reading devices but useless information to non-authorized reading devices, thereby prohibiting the use of the pseudonymous proximity location device by unauthorized reading devices.

  • Patent number: 10560273
Abstract: Methods, devices, and systems are provided for approving a transaction through an exchange of presented user contextual approval information and approval decryption. The user contextual approval information is generated by a user during a transaction, cryptographically signed, and provided to a transaction server. The user contextual data uniquely describes the transaction to the user and can be employed to aid a user in approving or validating the transaction in a subsequent approval action. In particular, a transaction may present the contextual approval information to a user in the form of an approval challenge message. The approval challenge message may be sent to a known user device via the transaction server in the form of a text or multi-media message. The user may respond to the message with an approval or denial response.

  • Patent number: 10554393
Abstract: An anonymous secure messaging method and system for securely exchanging information between a host computer system and a functionally connected cryptographic module. The invention comprises a Host Security Manager application in processing communications with a security executive program installed inside the cryptographic module. An SSL-like communications pathway is established between the host computer system and the cryptographic module. The initial session keys are generated by the host and securely exchanged using a PKI key pair associated with the cryptographic module. The secure communications pathway allows presentation of critical security parameter (CSP) without clear text disclosure of the CSP and further allows use of the generated session keys as temporary substitutes of the CSP for the session in which the session keys were created.

  • Patent number: 10554650
Abstract: The present invention is directed toward an RFID device that includes a motion sensing mechanism. The motion sensing mechanism is adapted to sense motion of the RFID device and then selectively allow or restrict the RFID device's ability to transmit messages, which may include sensitive data, when the RFID device is placed in an RF field. Thus, the motion sensing mechanism is utilized to control access to data on the RFID device to only instances when the holder of the RFID device moves the RFID device in a predefined sequence of motion(s).

  • Patent number: 10545343
Abstract: Providing visual security verification includes an electronic credential of a credential holder causing credential holder information to be transmitted to an augmented reality device, superimposing the credential holder information on to a live image of an immediate environment of the augmented reality device to provide a superimposed image, where the credential holder information includes a picture of the credential holder, and providing security verification based on a comparison of the picture of the credential holder and the live image. The information may be stored in the augmented reality device and an identifier of the credential holder from the electronic credential may be used to look up the information. The information may be provided by the electronic credential to the augmented reality device. The augmented reality device may cache information for a subset of the credential holders. The information may be stored in a cloud storage device.

  • Patent number: 10490005
Abstract: Method and devices for making access decisions in a secure access network are provided. The access decisions are made by one or more portable credentials using data and algorithms stored on or received by two or more credentials. Since access decisions are made by the portable credential or credentials, non-networked hosts or local hosts can be employed that do not necessarily need to be connected to a central access controller or database, thereby reducing the cost of building and maintaining the secure access network.

  • Patent number: 10490006
Abstract: Methods, devices, and systems are provided for performing and/or limiting features based on a determined motion associated with a portable device. When the portable device is determined to be in motion, a feature control application running on the portable device prevents at least one radio frequency identification (RFID) component of the device from communicating with RFID reading devices. When the portable device is still, or not in motion, the feature control application running on the portable device prevents the at least one RFID component of the device from communicating with RFID reading devices. Among other things, this feature control of a portable device can prevent theft of data in an access control system, credit payment system, and/or other data transfer system.

  • Patent number: 10479128
Abstract: A security document with unidirectional visual illumination is disclosed. A security feature is positioned within the document and not visible in normal ambient lighting conditions but becomes visible under specialized lighting conditions, for example in the presence of ultraviolet light. The security feature is constructible such that it is visible only from a single side of the security document, with the side being predeterminable regardless of the orientation of the specialized light.
