  • Publication number: 20220098898
Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein relate to a reversible door lock having a status indicator. For example, a door lock according to the present disclosure may include an escutcheon plate having a window through which an indication of the door status (e.g., locked or unlocked) may be viewed. The door status may be indicated through the window via a status indicator ring that turns as the lock transitions from one state to another via an actuator (e.g., a thumbturn). Moreover, the lock may include a drive wheel operatively coupled to the actuator and the status indicator ring such that the drive wheel moves the status indicator ring as the actuator is moved. The drive wheel may be capable of moving between a first orientation and a second orientation relative to the status indicator ring such that the door lock operates in a first direction (e.g., a right-hand direction) when the drive wheel is in the first orientation and in a second direction (e.g.

  • Publication number: 20220018161
Abstract: A multifunction hub core for a mortise lock comprises a mortise lock body having a deadbolt operable by a first control member on the outside of a door and a second control member on the inside of the door, and a deadbolt arm with slots for receiving a hub core. The deadbolt arm is rotatable inside the mortise lock body to move the deadbolt between retracted and projected positions. The hub core disposed in the deadbolt arm comprises projections allowing it to fit in the deadbolt arm slots in one of two positions. The first position allows the second control member to move the deadbolt between retracted and projected positions and is known as the standard function. The second position allows the second control member to retract the deadbolt from a projected position, but cannot project the deadbolt from a retracted position, and is known as the classroom function.

  • Publication number: 20210404210
Abstract: A germicidal door handle or other surface touched by a user may include one or more light sources configured to emit light at a wavelength effective to act as a germicidal. In some instances, the door handle/surface may interact with a controller configured to selectively activate the one or more light sources. The controller may be configured to perform the following steps: (1) activating the one or more light sources, (2) deactivating the one or more light sources upon an occurrence of a first predetermined condition, and (3) reactivating the one or more light sources upon an occurrence of a second predetermined condition.

  • Publication number: 20210047871
Abstract: A latch bolt with a bolt head that is removably mounted on a latch tail through the use of a reversibility assembly, such as bolt head adjustment mechanism, or the like. The reversibility assembly may comprise one or more locking members (e.g., within the bolt head, the latch tail, tail plate, and/or independent from the other components of the latch bolt) that allow the bolt head and/or the latch tail to be removed, rotated, and reassembled without opening the case of the mortise lock. The bolt head may comprise an anti-friction latch that is configured to pivot within the flanges of the bolt head in a way that maintains contact between the anti-friction lock and the strike plate.

  • Patent number: 10087654
Abstract: A locking mechanism is provided for a lock body and a rotatable key plug. The locking mechanism comprises pins having recesses, each of the pins adapted to be disposed in pin bores in the key plug for reciprocal and rotational movement. An elongated spring member simultaneously engages and biases the pins toward a keyway in the key plug. A locking bar moves between a first position and a second position where at least a portion of the locking bar is received in the recesses in the pins. The locking bar is prevented from moving to the second position unless the pins are in a position where the recesses are aligned with the locking bar. Upon insertion of a key in the keyway the pins are moved axially or rotated for aligning the recesses in the pins with the locking bar so the key can rotate the key plug.
