  • Patent number: 9399313
Abstract: The present invention is an improved method of manufacturing rubber wheels and composition thereof used on a portable vehicle adhesive remover for removing pinstripes, decals, side moldings and other items adhering to a vehicle without damaging the original paint of the vehicle. The improved method of manufacturing rubber wheels may comprise masticating approximately 100 parts of rubber in a mixer and synthesizing a rubber compound by mixing in at least 8 parts of activating agents, less than 60 parts of processing oil, between 0.1% and 1.5% by parts of cross-linking agent, and at least 1 part accelerating agent. The improved method may also comprise vulcanizing the synthesized rubber compound in a mold to produce a rubber wheel having a Shore A hardness between 50 and 60.

  • Patent number: 8720157
Abstract: An assembly for a levelable rail gauge leveling tie and associated methods of preparing a railway bed for the laying of a railway track and laying railroad track employing the assembly. The assembly includes a longitudinally elongated U-shaped rail gauge leveling tie, and first and second leveling studs. The leveling tie has first and second transversely extending orifices proximate the longitudinal ends. The leveling studs are operable for threaded engagement within a corresponding orifice through the leveling tie whereby rotation of a leveling stud within the corresponding orifice effects a change in the transverse distance between the distal end of the rotated leveling stud and the central portion of the leveling tie.

  • Patent number: 8358966
Abstract: User exposure to media items is detected and measured. A mobile client device carried by a user digitally samples the audio environment of the user on a regular basis. These samples are transformed into a stream of data signatures and compared with reference media items to detect user exposure to the reference items. Purchase behavior following exposure to selected media content items can be detected and tracked as well, so as to gauge effectiveness of media items such as advertisements.

  • Patent number: 8335335
Abstract: A headset comprises two earphones joined together by a band which can be worn over the head of a wearer. Each earphone includes a noise plate, which functions to attenuate or eliminate noise from the environment such as a tournament gaming environment. The noise plate includes an aperture through which a boom assembly that houses a microphone may engage to transmit utterances of the wearer to audio processing circuitry. A grille can be exposed when the noise plate is removed, which allows sounds produced in the ambient environment to enter the earphone.

  • Patent number: 8316586
Abstract: An archable flashing is disclosed for flashing around rectangular windows and doors and arch top windows and doors. The flashing has an elongated cap with an outside drip edge formed of a rigid plastic material. A flexible flange made of a flexible and stretchable plastic material is bonded to the inside edge of the cap and a rigid plastic nailing strip is bonded along the distal edge of the flexible flange. Spaced slits in the nailing strip subdivide it into segments and each segment is provided with one or more nail holes. The slits terminate at circular notches formed in the flexible flange adjacent to its junction with the nailing strip. The flashing is installed by placing its cap atop the straight or arched brick mold of a window or door while flexing the flange upwardly to rest against the adjacent wall. For arched brick mold, the flexible flange stretches differentially to accommodate the curve and the slits allow the nailing strip segments to separate.

  • Publication number: 20120229863
Abstract: An algorithm to control a printer wherein the separation set that is created for each print job is stored and managed in a storage unit within either the printer of the device that transmits the print job to the printer. The stored image separations are ranked or prioritized based on the frequency with which a particular job is printed. When the printer goes into an idle mode, such as between print jobs, the algorithm executes a re-separation or recalculates of each of the stored separation sets in descending order of the popularity of the separation set. The recalculation then accounts for changes or updates in the printing conditions thereby making it likely that the most popular separation set has been refreshed with current density compensation data.

  • Publication number: 20110268489
Abstract: An improved back tensioning system for a roll fed printer is provided. A spring loaded arm keeps a roller in direct contact with the outer diameter of the unwind roll. The roller is coupled to a slip clutch that exerts a constant force against the roll of media. Since this system does not apply a torque about the axis of rotation, as was the case in the prior art, the back tension does not vary with unwind roll size. As a result, linear back tension is provided in a manner that critically improves web handling and the printing process. As a result the problem is eliminated by applying resistance directly to the outer diameter of the roll of media.

  • Publication number: 20110241592
Abstract: An adaptive winding configurations and control method is disclosed for the electromagnetic poles of electric machines, including motors and generators. Motors utilizing the inventive adaptive winding configuration and control method are able to dynamically adjust their operating characteristics to maintain a constant rated power over a large operating speed range with high efficiency. Generators employing the inventive adaptive winding configuration and control method are able to dynamically adjust their operating characteristics in response to a variable driving force to achieve maximum power conversion efficiency. These generators are also able to dynamically change their output voltage and current (thus charging speed) when charging batteries depending on the charged state of the battery, and on the expected duration of the input power.
