  • Patent number: 9557791
Abstract: A computer device and a method for converting a working mode of a universal serial bus (USB) connector of the computer device. The computer device comprises a USB connector, a power interruption unit, a first switch unit, a south bridge chip, a reading unit, a control unit, and a charging control unit. The USB connector is linked to an external USB device. When a fast charging instruction is received, the power interruption unit interrupts the power supply of the USB connector; the first switch unit performs switching, so that the USB connector works in a fast charging mode. When the control unit receives a common charging instruction, the power interruption unit interrupts the power supply of the USB connector; the first switch unit performs switching, so that the USB connector works in a common charging mode, and data transmission can be performed.

Abstract: A storage device of a computer system including a first storage portion having a first capacity and a second storage portion having a second capacity is disclosed. A virtual storage unit is installed in an operating system of the computer system, and the operating system directly accesses data in the first capacity of the storage device. The operating system accesses the data in the second capacity via the virtual storage unit mapped to the second capacity of the storage device. The invention may be adapted to the storage device which uses a MBR partition table scheme and has a capacity larger than 2.2 TB which is the maximum supportive capacity of the MBR partition table scheme.

  • Publication number: 20110007435
Abstract: The invention discloses a short circuit protecting device adapted to a DC-DC converter with a soft-start function, and a voltage output terminal of the DC-DC converter increases an output current in segments in multiple time periods after the DC-DC converter is started. The short circuit protecting device including a voltage sensor connected to the voltage output terminal to sense the output voltage; a start timer generating a enable signal in a predetermined period after the DC-DC converter is started; a comparison circuit connected to the voltage sensor and the start timer and comparing the output voltage with a predetermined voltage according to the enable signal. The sum of the time period is a startup time of the DC-DC converter, and the startup time is longer than the predetermined period. When the output voltage is smaller than the predetermined voltage, a comparison circuit outputs a control signal to stop the DC-DC converter.

  • Publication number: 20110007434
Abstract: The invention discloses an over current protecting device and the method thereof. The over current protecting device is adapted to a DC-DC converter. A voltage output end of the DC-DC converter may generate an output current and transmit the output current to a load on a motherboard via a power copper layer on the motherboard. The over current protecting method includes the following steps: detecting a voltage drop on the power copper layer; controlling the DC-DC converter to operate normally when the voltage drop is smaller than a threshold value; and controlling the DC-DC converter to stop operating when the voltage drop is larger than the threshold value.
