Abstract: A connector position assurance device having multiple features for assuring a full coupling and locking of a female housing with a male housing in a connector system, such that the female housing and male housing are placed into a fully coupled and locked position when the connector position assurance device is moved from a pre-lock position to a full-lock position. When the connector position assurance device is at a full-lock position, a first member on the connector position assurance penetrates a window formed on the female housing, and at least one ledge extending from the connector position assurance device prevents a flexible member of the female housing from being moved downward, providing assurance that the female and male housings are fully coupled and locked together.
Abstract: An electrical connector apparatus with a protected terminal position assurance device (TPA) provided in the male housing and the female housing, the male housing having a TPA for connecting thereto at least a set of terminals, and the female housing having a TPA for connecting thereto at least a set of terminals. Specifically, the male housing and the female housing of the electrical connector apparatus are designed with ribs and other protective features to prevent the TPA from moving from a pre-set position to a final lock position during shipping and/or handling. The ribs and other protective features of the male housing and the female housing ensure a physical barrier from any contact with the TPA which may alter the position of the TPA.

Abstract: Connector latch used to securely hold together a connector apparatus, such that the connector apparatus has at least a first connector assembly and a second connector assembly which can be mated together. Initially, after the connector latch is manufactured, the connector latch is in an undeflected position. After manufacture, the connector latch is subjected to a pre-mating deflection process, in order to deflect the connector latch into a preloaded position. After the pre-mating deflection process has been completed, the connector latch is locked in the preloaded position. The preloaded connector latch provides a number of desirable characteristics, including at least an extra loud “click” sound when the first connector assembly and the second connector assembly are mated together.

Abstract: A catch structure useful for electrical connectors has a main latch arm having two arms and a crossbar in an H shape, connected to a housing, with a primary depression surface on the ends of the arms and a beam protruding from the crossbar having a female catch. The female catch can engage with a corresponding male catch on a mating housing. Depressing the primary depression surface can disengage the catch. The catch structure can be used on hermaphroditic or non-hermaphroditic connectors and is of use in automotive applications.
Abstract: A solid reinforced concrete column and a method of constructing the same are disclosed. The solid reinforced concrete column includes outer main reinforcing bars, inner reinforcing bars, inner transverse reinforcing bars, outer transverse reinforcing bars, and concrete. The outer main reinforcing bars are arranged in an axial direction. The inner reinforcing bars are each arranged to be placed between two or three of the outer main reinforcing bars inside the two or three outer main reinforcing bars in the axial direction. The inner transverse reinforcing bars are each arranged to connect the two or three outer main reinforcing bars and the inner reinforcing bar in a transverse direction. The outer transverse reinforcing bars are arranged to surround the outer main reinforcing bars outside the outer main reinforcing bars in the transverse direction. The concrete is placed to bury the reinforcing bars.
Abstract: A luminaire having an adjustable color temperature of emitted light includes an input device for receiving an input indicative of a desired color temperature, first, second and third LED arrays each array having different color temperatures, a first LED driver for driving one of the first and third LED arrays, a second LED driver for driving the second LED array, an LED array selector for selectively driving the one of the first and third LED arrays dependent upon the input, and a processor for determining which of the first and the third LED arrays to drive based on the input and controlling the LED array selector and the second LED driver dependent upon the input. The system may additionally include a heater and/or a damper for transferring outside air into the space, either of which may be controlled by the controller based on the measurements.
Abstract: A system for controlling thermal comfort in a space is provided with a variable mode of operation. The system may include a conditioner for conditioning air in the space, and a sensor for measuring a temperature in the space. A controller is provided for controlling the conditioner based on the temperature sensed by the sensor, and a fan for circulating air within the space is regulated based on the temperature sensed by the sensor. A related system for controlling a fan based on height is also provided, as is a system and method for easily and efficiently determining the height of a fan using a simple camera, such as one on a “smart” phone. A further aspect pertains to a controller, such as for example a portable handheld device, having a user interface adapted for suggesting an increase in a set point temperature of a thermostat based on the selected speed of the fan.
